  • The Fehmarn Belt Tunnel is set to become the world's longest immersed tunnel, drastically reducing travel times between Germany and Denmark. This ambitious infrastructure project aims to transform connectivity in northern Europe, but faces technical and political challenges.
Our video explores the vision, engineering details, financing, and criticisms of this epic tunnel crossing the Fehmarn Belt strait. We delve into the proposed immersed tunnel design, which will surpass even the Marmaray Tunnel in Turkey. With a price tag exceeding $7.5 billion and construction timelines from 1998 to 2028, it is one of Europe’s largest infrastructure undertakings.
Watch now to learn whether one of Europe's largest infrastructure projects will overcome the obstacles and achieve its goals! Can the Fehmarn Belt Tunnel balance innovation with sustainability? Share your thoughts in the comments.

The new terminal at Frankfurt airport costs 4 billion euros to allow even more flights to distant beaches. That is a project against environment.
The Fehmarn-Belt-Tunnel is just the opposite. The highspeed rail connection from Hamburg to Kopenhagen will spare many flights.

Yes, 45 minutes + waiting time before being allowed to enter the Ferry! And sometimes during vacations, cars are waiting out on the entrance Motorway! A tunnel, The tunnel will be a benefit for all, giving a much more levelled out traffic and not the large groups leaving the ferries at intervals.

Wait... This video was released 4 days ago, and you're seriously suggesting that they switch to TBMs now? The dredging has already concluded. The first elements are currently rolling out. That ship has sailed 8 years ago, buddy.

Actually, TBM was only the third option.

@@curio78 Ahh, I see what you mean. I guess, the tunnels are separated by the concrete walls between them, but I don't know how thick they are. Hopefully they're thick enough to keep cars from intruding on the rail tunnel.
