I just want to say, this series is airing in July 2020. I don't have any proof, but I can conclude, the majority of the audiences whose really wants Xiaoge, really want to see interaction between Xiaoge and Wu Xie (in bromance way) definitely watch Reunion after The Ultimate Note which is thick with bromance. Well, xiongdi, my brothers and sisters, try watching the other series/film first. In this series, Wu Xie is the (only) lead role and the plot is centered around him. If you just want to see Xiaoge, watch the cut video or FMV about him. Show appreciation please.

(Not that alone, he was in touch with pang zi or together with pang zi but he was technically alone) We are able to see how cool, how amazing he could be!! how strong, how wise and how powerful he could be! He is wise as always and he finds a way in every circumstance. we knew that but we see that again ❤
Btw in the ultimate note ( one of the season). Pang zi fall in love with a girl from banai named yu cao(I don't remember the exactly) died because she regret betraying pang zi and trying to kill pang zi.

The director just wanted to turn the strou towards romantic mood. Overall the story is quite strong apart from some unnecessary characters.
I agree with you so much... This whole random romance trope happens really often with this series. If you've watched Tomb of the sea you know what I'm talking about. Why would they go with this direction :/

How she living alone ?? So much questions. And Xiao Bai kept creating troubles for Wu Xie during his journey. I'm trying really hard to find the novels to read them but now I'm hesitating xD Even Ah ning was a character I really disiked but she actually had a purpose in the series. Now the only female character I seemed to like so far is the girl that found her voice again (forgot her name omg) but even the romance part with Glasses was getting kinda cheesy when they entered the cave at one point...I truly hope the second season isn't like this :')

As for adaption things in the series, yeah they do improvise the story in films. I'm currently reading "Faraway Wanderers" and the story is quite changed from the drama "Word of Honor". Doing this sort of evil things for money, getting your hands dirty, even if your daughter ends up healthy and happy, where are your conscience and morals???
