I'm a cartridge guy all the way. I have a much more comfortable and frankly closer shave with a cart than a DE. Plus, like you, I too am a sucker for marketing. That being said I do appreciate the novelty and barbershop experience of a DE. In fact the razor i use in the weekdays is either my fusion 5 proglide or a schick hydro 5 skin comfort. But my weekend shaves, which I look forward to a lot, when I have time to sit back relax sip some whiskey and shave I use my wilkinson sword DE razor. I cut myself all the time and it irritates my skin but it's a lot of fun to use a DE. It's like a toxic lover she's bad for you but you keep coming back for more haha. Anyways big fan of the channel and if you haven't in a while you should revisit some of the new schick razors I've seen a couple new ones hit the shelves
@@leekhan8948 Well traditional shaving is better for most of men but cartridges also work. Also you need to know what you're doing with DE razors otherwise it won't shave close, so maybe 4 5 shaves until you get a good idea of what DE can do. No such thing is necessary for cartridges as you can just rub it on your face and it will shave.
I agree 100%! Get both and have options. To me, if I want to take my time and enjoy a shave I’d go with the DE. If I’m in a rush I’d go with a cart. However, I always use a brush and nice shaving soap. It’s just better for the face.

Great video! Is comparing a double edge and a seven-blader like apples and oranges? I liked Dorco when they offered their sturdy razors and good blades through their own website. I settled on the Pace 3, which I found gave a smoother and closer shave than the Mach 3, with blades that were much less expensive than Gillette's. Too bad that Dorcos are only sells through Amazon. I ordered a Feather Neo2 cart razor from Japan. I am looking for a good two bladed razor to switch off with my Skinguard.
Tony was in the local CVS today and stopped by the shaving section , you got me in that habit now. looked at the one blade , even though I got one last year thanks to you 👍🏼 but as usual can’t find the refill blades ....cvs sux....gotta go to Amazon to order replacement blades ...why ? Those old skool single edge razors used be soooo heavy to hold could use them as hammers if you need to.lol 😂
I've used dorco pace 6 but it always felt like it's pulling my skin and tugging my skin out not a comfortable experience at all that's why i again went back to Gillette fusion proglide or ProShield.
You mention to use short strokes with the de razor but for many, me included, long passes are safer and avoid painful razor burns. Short passes with d.e. razor puts you at higher risk of burns due to the constant lifting of the blade off the skin compared to long passes that keep the blade against the skin. Who agrees with me?
@@averageguytested I’d have to disagree; short strokes are better suited for grizzled veteran de shavers who know how to handle a de blade; long passes are much much safer as it keeps the sharp edge on the skin whereby saving you from nicks.

I think 7 blades is OTT. Some great 2 blade cartridges, but 3 or 5 blades seem to be best, but depends on the razor. I still can not get into the fixed blades or the DE razors. Like you said in other video, cartridges are designed for ease like bumper cars 🤣🤣🤣
I like my gillette fusion proglide with 7 blades. Everybody knows each proglide cartridge gives you at least 30 days of close, pleasant shaves. I order a 12 count pack of cartridges for $39.00 once every year and will still have a couple cartridges left by the end of the year . No other razor can beat that.

While seven blade system is too many blades, anyone ever notice shaves with disposable three or five blade system leave no irritation after the shave?
If used correctly I agree.
