No one will see this or care, but after listening to all his songs all day on repeat, I kept wondering why the whole discography made me feel melancholic and sad despite how upbeat and happy it is and how I could even explain it.
I think it's because the lofi-ish vibe of a lot of the songs and how upbeat they all are reminds me of 2022 and my trip to France for study abroad. 2022 was the best year of my life, and I miss everything about it. I catalogued my whole trip in a video, using lofi as the background music, and that vibe makes me remember those memories.
Hey, Friend made me super miss the people I met in France, but also sad because I realized that nobody but me ever reaches out. I sent this song in that group chat to let them know I'm thinking of them.
This song, this song makes me think of a situation that also happened in France, though it wasn't from overthinking (that was later, back home in the States), it was from being completely oblivious. Honestly it's super embarrassing for me even thinking about it, how blind I was to the fact this girl in the class we attended in France was clearly into me (hindsight speaking here) and I missed everything because thats never actually been a thing ever before 😂

In my opinion, this song feels like it's 40 years old... (I mean the retro style, it wouldn't be out of place in those years) it transports me to that golden era of the 1980s, it gives me very good feelings , I like this part when he says: 2:27 with that smile and the little dance that accompanies the rhythm, one of the best of modern music in my opinion, it brings a breath of fresh air and joy to life, I'm glad I found it on the soundtrack of the eFootball 2022 video game, I never get tired of listening to it, it has become an essential item on my personal list, a great song.
