    Tecumseh Caesar just listed the names of a bunch of Long Island and New England tribes and then he translated it as something completely different, that was really weird.

    My 13th great grandfather Wyandanch was a chief in Long Island. I didn't know it until today. My brother found it in genealogy. How I wish I knew stories of him when I was a child.

      It’s true. I’m an honorary tribe member of the Stockbridge-Munsee Band of Mohicans, the church I went to growing up our pastor & their pastor were good friends & we’d go up there for a week or two in the summer to help on the reservation, & knowing the story of how they ended up in Northern Wisconsin breaks my heart & I stand with every Native American because what the government has done to them is wrong & some tribes have almost completely lost their language because of the government!! It makes me so mad that racism has been going on for way too long her & at the end of the day yes Native Americans are the rightful owners of this nation but we all bleed the same color regardless of our skin color!!

      It's called assimilation. And it's exactly the point of this piece. A country stole children & put them into institutions that completely stripped them of their culture. They were not allowed or couldn't reassimilate. Cut off from there culture many married white ppl and then passed this children as white when they could. Because life was easier and that was the only option they had.

    Native Americans are the only minority that has to prove their heritage. If you're black or African American, you can claim to be part of reparations studies simply by saying it. Being Hispanic entitles you to benefits, Native Americans have to prove to the Federal Government by way of going through birth and tribal records that we're 25% of that particular tribe to be eligible for ANYTHING. As someone who has Akwesasne Mohawk heritage, my Great Grandmother on my mother's side was born at the Akwesasne Reservation in St. Regis, NY and my Grandmother on my father's side was half French and half Mohawk, yet I am entitled to NOTHING in the eyes of the Federal Government. Native Americans are the only minority that in a few generations could be gone because if they marry outside of their tribe, once their kids and grandkids get below that 25% blood quantum, they won't be recognized by the Federal Government anymore. They will be considered white or not enough of one tribe for membership.

    make no mistake, of all the people that walketh upon these lands which we called the united states, none have suffered as much as its own native inhabitance The Indious. The first peoples. It is a sad tail but one that many others have faced in the history of mankind. We tend to look took at our societies via the lens of race, but science even the Bible both point to a beginning when all were one. and from bonding's came families came tribes and houses lords kings countries and nations. but all stemming from one. Heck even our very universe in all within had a beginning. A never ending history of peoples their ambition and goals, and the fallout their in unto man. What happened here was wrong, but also wrong not to understand that their is a tale to be told from both sides. Because man is man, and man fails man. The native amricans were not angels. and we often glamorize to the point of only seeing the good. but they had bad, corruption and evil, just as those who landed upon their shores. And all took part in the whole-sale crime again africans, building their nations from the hands of those enslaved. mans ambitions. but even in it all, all things are under control of the lords our god. And even in mans mischief we are separated from those who will do his will and those who will not. Not man's will , but god's will. and that is the rub.

    Funny how America talks about Natives and always avoid talking about Broken Treaties..here’s something Americans don’t know about Canada...Canada still upholds the Treaties made with the Indigenous people since 1771...hate to be blunt but in short Natives of America choose the wrong side..plus Natives and Inuits of Canada first met Europeans 500 years before Columbus too you may know them as The Vikings.Natives of Canada has a very strong connection with the real Natives of America not the wannabes because most Natives of America came from Canada. This is history before any Europeans set foot in North America and Inuits are the ones who crossed the land bridge or the Natives. One more thing Natives and Inuits are two different people and race...

      There always been wars through out oral history in natives and Inuit I’m part inuk or better known as Eskimo by the United States there is an island in hudsons bay in northern Quebec called translates to the shitty smell sorry for my lack of intelligence on the wording but that’s where the Algonquin use to dump the bodies of Cree people and Eskimos of that area there was a lot of misconceptions that the Crees were doing the killing but it was later discovered through oral history that it has the tribe that were from the south of Canada and north of United States were more superior than the crees and Inuit and dominated the area and a few years back we as two neighboring nations had a reconciliation ceremony in the wilderness miles away from any civilization with one and other where the killings took place if you visit the communities of the natives in the North and South Americas there is a lot of rich oral histories that predates so called “experts” that tell us that even though we are the first peoples to “come” here but we are the people of this land we refuse to tell these settlers who manipulate and try to erase any known history to be to truly know our history so that they can’t try and dismantle or distort it these are the invaders they’d rather have us they’d rather have us extinct as a race we are a nuisance to our own homes where else are we gonna go? We came from this land

    Actually the term "human race" is completely inaccurate from a scientific point of view because race basically in science vernacular is considered subspecies - it's not considered species.

    If the Natives made a last stand and were driven out, then it isn't their land any longer. They lost the fight, they lost the land. If they want the land now, let them buy it from the current owners. If the current owners don't want to sell, too bad, so sad. Let the Natives outlast the owners and buy it when it does become available. Too bad that's the way things worked out, but that is reality as it is and not how you wish it would be.

    It has never been about who was here first it has always been about who is here now. The people with the tree rock are the dwindling descendants of a tribe that after 250 summers has failed to adapt and advance. The rest of the country can only preserve a unreality for so long. It’s sad that the long have to be relocated but there is a finite amount of real estate. To even consider denying more affordable fuel to millions of living Americans for the sake of not evicting a handful of long dead first people or my owne dead grandmother for that matter is well just stupid

      it was their land before, whites came over and took it from them. typical white ass explanation

    • @angeljennings80
      @angeljennings80 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It was their land first NOT ours!! Whites stole it from them plain & simple & the government is still treating them like dirt!! Look at the pipeline trump is trying to push through Native American land in North Dakota & did it without blinking an eye!! They have more right to that land then the money hungry people who are just going to take it regardless!! We need to be caring for this land more then we do because global warming is only going to keep getting worse with cutting more trees down & not finding other forms of fuel instead of relying on oil!! Probably won’t happen in your lifetime BUT eventually Venice, Italy won’t be there anymore because if we don’t do something about global warming the glaciers will melt completely & the seas will rise even more causing certain areas to be under water!!
