The mist disturbing thing about The Descent is that its theme is a fear that everybody has and some are able to conquer, just to get into a deeper, more visceral prey situation. Amazing movie. If you can't watch horror movies, at least read the synopsis as if it was a story.
I've seen all of these movies before I turned twenty, and I can confirm that any single one of these movies will make you a major Horror fan. Though my first was The Monster Squad.

I really dont get horror tbh, granted im a giant weenie and avoid it if I can. But its just 80% of the movies are the entire cast dies or a oh the killer really isnt dead ending. It just seems boring to me after seeing so much horror slop out there. Granted I have watched the universal monsters and evil dead and they didnt seem scary to me. Its just I dont see the appeal in getting scared, maybe someone can explain it to me.
I’ve seen more horror movies than I can count and Poltergeist is still the one that scared me the most,I say that while having an Exorcist tattoo on my arm😂
I wish Sleepy Hollow was as good as you make it out to be. Great aesthetic : shit movie
