  • Before loading this AMP 72 (All Missions Pack) from 5.11 with all the bug-out bag gear, I wanted to overview the features and why I chose this bag. This is just the initial review of the AMP72 from 5.11, and in the future, I will do a more in-depth review of how I like it and how it's holding up.
The AMP 72 is highly modular and can be combined and compatible with gear sets from 5.11, and the hex grid design makes them compatible with any Molly pouches you might have.

I just ordered this with every possible gear set for 50% off on their website, I'm stoked!
I'm using it for my AR pistol as well, a few spare mags and some extra gear. Honestly I might add a bladder to mine as well, great breakdown!

Just did the same, mid review I stopped and ordered the bag and a few gear sets. Thanks for the thorough review, prepper.

Had this pack myself for about a year. Intended for my bug out bag but has turned into my work tool bag with pretty much all the gear sets.
My main reason for choosing the AMP was I wanted a longer bag, considered the Rush but it just looked to wide for the city.
Being in a country where gun ownership is pretty much illegal, I used the middle section for carrying tarp/hiking poles and on occasion an axe which it was great for given there’s little external attachment.
Only negative is those water bottle pockets are too small. Wish 5.11 had considered making them big enough for a Nalgene so it didn’t have to go on the inside of the pack. I can just about get the smaller grayl water filter bottle in one and a 750ml bottle in the other.
All in all though, great pack with lots of options. Don’t regret buying at all.

It is literally what ruins the bag for me. No option for carrying a water bottle. Not even molle 3rd party or anything.

Thanks for the review, I'm going to try using it as an improvised Army aid bag. I tried using a Tasmanian tiger bag but it didn't seem big enough after adding 3 bags of fluid.

Hi there. Would you please be able to advise what are the actual outside dimensions of the backpack? The only thing I can find are the dimensions of the compartments. Thank you in advance.

That long pocket in the back panel should be for a hydration bladder, but I’m not sure where the hose routing is

There's a hidden slit on both sides of the back for the hose to feed through.

Them inside mesh pockets tend to fray alittle I noticed from my pack!

What is the purpose of a hex grid? What can it be used for?
