I believe the gold coin to be a maravedi of Alfonso VIII of Castile. It's probably from the Toledo mint and dates from around 1200AD. A Google search will bring up similar examples.
Wow Andy mate! I have so much to say about this video!! Firstly, so good to see you on the other side of the camera lens mate! So, your doodad at 9:15 or so is part of a Saxon brooch plate I believe. Your copper coin with the edges bashed in is done to use in the game shove ha’penny….so it’s a half penny mate & done by design. The Vicky 3p is a commemorative token / coin hence why it’s copper & is celebrating the jubilee of 1887….and lastly….Wow wow wow!! That gold coin is a stunner & couldn’t happen to a nicer fella! I think you’ll find your subs will be climbing rather rapidly now my friend!! A pleasure to watch pal! 👏👏
Thank you Marcus, I will look up the Saxon brooch fragment, I think you could be right I feel I have seen something similar. The gold coin has been reported to my FLO now and she agrees it’s Alfonso V111 I will do an update with the info so far. Out again tomorrow on a Roman Saxon site so hopefully something good pops up. Have a good weekend mate. 😊
The ‘Hawke’ badge would have been worn on the epaulet of the uniform, in particular a member of the WW1 Royal Naval Hawke battalion . Nice find and congratulations on the goldie!
Congratulations on your gold hammered, complete and unclipped, that will straighten out like a dream. Don't see gold hammereds from that part of the world, its beautiful. Well done, no feeling quite like finding a gold coin, it only gets better when you find one on your own permission after months or years of hard graft
It’s ok just throwing people off the sent otherwise I won’t be able to get on a dig, your be very popular with such great land. 🤣Thank you for watching. See you soon.
Thank you for watching, it may be Spanish although it has script writing, and could have come over form the Crusades. They must have been upset to loose it. When I get a full I’d and report from FLO I will update. Thanks for watching.
