Nicely done video. Just the sounds of the machine working. That Komatsu excavator with grapple is a relatively small machine, but well matched to the job. Berg is quite a busy demolition contractor, working all over Maryland. Fun to watch, wish it was longer!! Thanks for posting it.

I like to get demos from beginning to end. However, towards the end of a very long, cold, and windy day, when another memory card filled up and my fingers were getting too numb to operate the camera, I decided it was time to go home and heat up some soup.
cheaply built building ,,,you can see the cinder blocks were half mortored in...ive noticed they tear down a lot of stuff in this city .first a dealership ..then an old 1950s office building ..some nice old houses for an apt building then a tire dealership ...whats next …??? I guess if its old you tear it down every 30 years
That guy must be new to operating. Not very efficient at all. Would love to have seen someone like Chris from letsdig18 channel, here on YT, run that machine.
Berg really are the best, they are quick and efficient. Always entertaining when Berg are doing a demolition.

most likely the reason for going slow is they are separating the materials on site and trying to keep the dust down

I guess the idea is to separate out different recyclable materials as much as possible? Otherwise not sure why the operator is being so delicate.
That's right. Keep the metal separate from the masonry separate from everything else. They each were hauled off separately.
On a job like this, how much goes to landfill and how much to recycling? If you do its probably only stone and metal right?

You don't understand efficiency
it is bloody painful to watch might paint a wall and watch it dry
The gear setting on the lower tight lets you adjust speed :) I go for 1.5 to 2X on these.

The metal was separated, and the masonry and concrete were separated. The wood and roofing materials were trash.

A lot of development in Montgomery county is in Bethesda, mostly high end projects.
Construction/demolition is great for the economy.
I was surprised none of the CMU walls had any vertical rebar.
You need a better hose/water person.
