Obviously the Lilliputters, will you please pass my comments on to them. This is SUPERB WELL STRUCK RINGING,on a beautiful peal of classic prewar Taylor GEMS. Pity it was only 3 leads and not a Quarter. I listen through head phones and i could lay down and just be in the zone, almost a trascended spiritual zone. It was Nikola Tesla who said, to understand the universe, one needs to understand energy, frquency and vibrations. Well that sums up bell ringing especially on a beautifully harmonically tuned peal and not a bunch of old bangers.
Howden sound identical to my local tower Ormskirk - beautiful bells. I looked up on Doves and the nominals of the back bells are the same - Ormskirk are slightly newer though Taylors 1948
@chrislea8463 all the videos I looked at of Omskirk were poor audio quality but they do sound good. There are so many good Taylor 8s around, also Taylor's seems to specialise in heavy 8 . Whilst I love Whitechapel light 8s I do thing 8s around the ton are so nice. The other thing with bells are the tower is also part of the instrument as a guitar body is to the strings. The. Classic example of when the guitar body is awful is Liverpool Cathedral, the tower is an an accoustic dissaster.
Here is a video I took of a visiting band from down south ringing at Ormskirk last summer: th-cam.com/video/SugiYAd-ioY/w-d-xo.htmlsi=qMO4hj8bQ9_J2yxF They rang some decent things like Cambridge. Ormskirk are popular with visiting ringers there was a visiting band yesterday and another next month they tend go on a tour due to there being lots of towers close together where I live but Ormskirk are by far the best! They really have a thunderous tone to them as I think my video displays particularly the tenor is a wonderful bell in Eb it roars! I know you like your heavy Taylor tenors Steven like York. I’m not a fan of Liverpool Cathedral tbh rung there a good few times as you say the acoustics are woeful and the donut ringing box make the ringing scary! I much prefer Pier head as I know you do.
@@chrislea8463Ormskirk are wonderful. I just like the sound of quality bells. Pierhead are exceptional. As for the Liverpool Cathedral I'm sure they are great bells if in the right tower. Personally an exercise in madness, who wants to turn in the tenor It is odd, I love St Paul's, very old school . If they retuned them to Simpson tuning I would be horrified, they are the distinctive sound of London, victory over Hilter etc. I love Bow, my dad hung them. If that had been a 41 cat Taylor peal the tenors would be much louder and longer sustain.
Beautiful and well struck ringing as always 🥲

@@Steven_Rowe and Wigan All Saints are even better than Pier Head IMO a truly exceptional ring of 10 bells rung them a few times
