    These cone clutches can quite often stick especially as the lining wears to exactly match the taper of the outer cone. In your case you probably could have given the centre cone a clout inwards with a rubber mallet . I've walked many a mile behind a Howard 350, as I grew up on a smallholding.

      It wasnt the clutch that was the problem, it was the brake pad contacting before the clutch had released drive which caused the engine to stall obviously, but at least it got an overall,,, lol 😅😅

      @@mantrapjicker Yep, I realise that was why it was stalling, it as the fact that it wasn't disengaging. I've also seen them where the pulley inner bearing nearest the engine locks up and this also makes it drive permanently, not the problem in your case though. 😉

      Do not strip it down like this ! And certainly never do up screws with an impact gun

    • @mantrapjicker
      @mantrapjicker  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SuperDouginator idiot it wasn't an impact gun and making sure the screws are tight will save you money if it ever comes apart while spinning it will cause a lot of damage,now behave yourself 🤣🤣🤣

    My advice to all of you is to get yourself an owners manual , adjustment and maintenance are written in it , but the one thing this idiot does wrong is he degreases the inside the of the clutch ,every so often as part of the machine maintenance is to grease the clutch spline and never repeat never take the clutch apart whilst still on the machine ,remove unit from engine and undo , do not remove the screws ,then place in a vice to undo the screws and remove ,grease the splines as above and then when the clutch unit is in the vice you can close the vice against the clutch to check it work properly before you put it back on the machine and when you retighten the screws just do then up with a screwdriver which will be ok you DO NOT HIT THE SCREWS WITH AN IMPACT DRIVER WHEN DOING UP THE SCREWS ( BUT YOU WILL NEED ONE TO UNDO THE SCREWS )
    HE SAYS THE SCREW WAS WEAK IN FACT HE BROKE IT BY DOING THIS.

      Blah blah blah my method works fine,you do it your way I do it mine,same outcome and as for the screw breaking it was seized in the thread so would have broken no matter what I did 😏😏😏 it works

      And by the way I did not remove the grease from the crankshaft or the inside of the hub you idiot as you can see and why would I have my grease and brush out and not apply grease to it if I had removed it 🤔🤔🤔👍👍👍😏😏😏😝😝😝😝

    I fought with my dad's for sometime. Eventually we put in a centrifigul clutch and never looked back.

      Mine works perfect now but I could do that to mine if it plays up again in the future.

    Hi Julian watching this again I’ve got a similar problem,when I removed push rod bit,there is not a washer on mine,but noticed rod goes inside bearing when I push it back in does a washer fix this problem do you think thanks james

    • @mantrapjicker
      @mantrapjicker  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The rod has to push on the inner bearing race to release the clutch, not go inside the bearing race

      Will get a large spacer,washer tomorrow hopefully that will work

    • @mantrapjicker
      @mantrapjicker  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The clutch cone that the bearing is in the end of should move inward to release the clutch when the push rod pushes against the bearing,that's why it's called a clutch release bearing, typically the same as a car if you have ever worked on a vehicle 👍

      @mantrapjicker  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      if the clutch spins when you hit dirt then maybe it is the clutch slipping.

  • @hulmedav
    @hulmedav 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I run mine without the clutch one less worry
