Herr Heitzler, it's so good to hear your voice! Every clarinet player has their 'ideal sound' that they are constantly striving towards and for me it has been yours, ever since I first saw Kol Simcha play live at the Arvada Center in Colorado when I was in high school. In college, I went to hear you play again (as the World Quintett) in the small German town of Oberkochen in 2004. A few years later I performed "Anastasia" on my recital, along with Brahms and Poulenc (if I recall correctly... it's been a few years). Thank you for sharing your musical background and insights in this interview... it's really wonderful to learn so much more about my "Klarinettenvorbild!"
