My friend showed me this song, at the time I had a completely one-sided crush on him and the lyrics spoke so much to how I was feeling about the situation, and so I fell in love with this song. He passed away very tragically two weeks ago, and the lyrics have taken on a whole new meaning to me that I will never hear this song the same again. I miss him every day, and as of right now I still break down every time I hear this song. I still love it, it's a beautiful piece of art that is only in my life because of my friend who I loved, and I'll always cherish the memories of driving around with him listening to this. Thank you Orla, this song is a gift beyond words.
You know when you hear a new song for the first time ever, and you just know you're going to listen to it a million times till it's irrevocably seared into your brain? That! That x1000!
Having a borderline personality disorder diagnosis, it feels like this song speaks directly to me. Orla you're so very talented and I'm so very grateful.
I was looking for a comment like this, I have that diagnosis as well and was just wondering if I was looking too deep into it, making connections where there weren't any but turns out I'm not the only one thinking that :) it really spoke to me as well xx
it's not orlas sole singing skills that got me, even if they're amazing, but her passion that's distinct in her singing and the energy you can see. this is what I look for. I'm bored of all so perfect emotionless singing. orla is fucking refreshing
You ever have those songs that feel super duper relatable, and help you feel connected to the human experience? This is one of those for me. Thanks Orla, you're a gem.
all of your songs have such a nice and strong structure and such amazing (like i'd totally tattoo them on myself good) lyrics and this song is no exception. my dream is to write a song as good as this.
pleeassseee make more fully produced music. These videos of new songs are incredible and I just want to hear what it'll sound like fully polished, gahhh
I'm so glad you're getting step by step the recognition you deserve, i always loved this song and come back to it regurlarly. Thanks Orla and i wish you all the best
It's 1:30 in the morning and I'm teetering on the edge of a panic attack because I can't stop thinking about how much of a freak I am because it's like I have two modes. 1:robotic,stern,cold,seemingly emotionless, too honest, socially inept 2: Super loud, annoying, overly emotional, theatrical, over dramatic and childish, really outgoing The second is like a failed attempt at a mask,I try to act like "normal" people do but then I end up being a little bit too dramatic or theatrical and it tends to drive people away I can't find a balance inbetween the two, this song is exactly how I feel. I've been trying to find a way to put it into words and I finally did. Thank you Orla for writing such beautiful and meaningful songs,You may not know it but they really truly help people ❤
Jayden Williams my guy you aren’t a freak there are plenty of people like you, I’m one of em and I know it’s kinda hard to not feel that way (I haven’t figured it out yet) but It’ll get better at some point
Orla please tell me quite how you manage to be more and more phenomenal with each new song??? I didn't realise it was possible but this is absolutely incredible. I can't even express how completely blown away I am. I've also been feeling exactly how you describe in this song a LOT recently and can't understand how you manage to put it into words?? And MUSIC???? You're a goddess, never ever ever stop doing exactly what you're doing
Hey there, Orla! How come i just found about you today?!?! Youre amazing and this is an amazing song. Youre very creative! Loved loved loved. Cant wait to listen to more of youre originals!! Congratulations!
orla this song makes me cry i love it so much im telling you a quarter of these views are mine i am begging on my knees for you to release this song i will singlehandedly make it popular so everyone streams it this is the best song ive ever fucking heard
listened to this years ago, randomly heard a song of hers on spotify and recognized the voice, now i re-listened to this and still remember all the words🕶
You're accumulating a nice collection of bangers now but this one's still my favourite. You were an exceptional performer of covers as an adolescent and you've grown into a very fine songwriter in your own right. It's been joyous and a tad surreal watching you grow up on TH-cam. Keep up the good work.
I just recently discovered you and I was doing my media homework and thought to myself, "imma listen to some Orla and see what other stuff she's done" "I either feel it all at once or feel so little... there's no middle" I almost jumped out of my skin when I heard this, and my focus was literally RIPPED from my homework to my computer screen. I have never heard a song lyric that has described my life so perfectly. That was beautiful, and I have fallen in love with this song... thank you
Beautiful and perfect... this reminds me of Postcards! There's a unique feminine, gritty, raw, emotional feeling in these two songs.. incredible. Tingles.
Seeing you live was amazing you just have so much emotion in your expressions and your voice and your words and arghhh you are just an amazing performer and you deserve millions of subs!! :)
You're everything I want to be. You can communicate thoughts in the most incredible honest way. You're as beautiful as your voice, which is like a hot room in winter. I'm speechless.
I love all the new stuff you're making, please never stop, but I keep coming back to this song for some reason...if there's ever an Orla Gartland World Tour better bet I'm buying the first ticket in South America!!
I sincerely hope that more people get to recognize and appreciate you, you're really good at music, and songwriting, and singing, and I really dig the way you play guitar. I for one am rooting you on and hoping for much success. Keep it going!
I've been your subscriber since like 2010, and somehow over the years your videos stopped showing up in my subscriptions. I just rediscovered you and I'm so glad to see that you're still on TH-cam! I really like how your music has evolved. Hope you've been well!
I love all your songs, and I am glad, that your new songs are on Spotify. It would be sooo cool and nice to hear songs like, "grey" or "why am i like this" on there too!!! Love from Vienna
