6:50 it was introduced as a lazy fix for Battlegrounds animations taking too long. Specifically the animations for card that read: "Whenever a friendly minion attacks [blank]". Instead of actually making the animations fast, they speed them up progressively. And it looks awful the first few times it happens.
I do appreciate that for all the insane spell support Druid has received over the years, there is the looming chance of critical failure for the card to balance it.
I have been playing a convoke deck in standard and it's amazing. no one expects it neither. the deck does a good job at baiting them into thinking it's a token deck, but then confuses them when you start playing cards they have never seen before. discount choose one cards, play the ramp guy and then play the choose spell or minion to summon spell by turn 5 and play convoke. in one game I got celestial alignment and then cast my second convoke for 1 mana the next turn. the guy had no idea what was going on and just kept using the "wow" emote before conceding.
Basically as long as it does not cast astral and cast scale at least once its basically a win condition 8/10 times. Its basically powercrept yogg (original one) from what you showed, and fun to boot.
Last time I used this I was thief rogue fighting evolve shaman few days ago using the naga reduce next spell to 0 turn 6, it cast alignment then wild growth...I had sire denetrius and the summon 3 copies on a minion spell in hand...turn seven I healed for 17 hp attached to 40/40 stats while clearing board after a scales cast. Felt confident to do because even if they waved me that was still four 9-cost minions on board.
Normally I get mad when TH-camrs push good decks, but this is the only one I’ll accept mirror matches in! Yogg and random cards always make the game fun, winning or losing
If astral didn't exist, are there any catastrophic outcomes? I can't think of anything offhand. So if astral didn't exist, I guess convoke would be bonkers strong.
Alignment can be bad if you don't have a way to utilize it (I.e. Mana ramp/cheat in hand) Outside of that, the overdraw potential is significant with things like UI, Overflow, Miracle Growth, Fungal Fortunes and Composting (Onto a full board of summoned minions that gets popped by a rando Seeds) you could die to fatigue instantly.
@@CoolLegBoy Yeah they definitely have some of the highest draw on a single spell. And with all these big spells in deck, it could get hard to empty hand for them, too.

Kinda crazy at 15:00 the 26 heal was enough to exactly get Dane back up to 40, and exactly enough to kill the enemy with the 1 otter/hero power

Woudln't Haleh the 4/12 mage dragon deal 40 damage because it says 'Cast a spell' and that 10 mana cards casts druid spell

Drawing too many cards is a real threat
