Thank you so much. A rain. Storm came last night and really did a number. Cucumber , sunflowers, corn, tomato snapped. I'm in a panic lol. I'm going to try some of this.
I snapped my main stem on my tomato plant and repaired it using tape and a splint. It is all wilted now a day later. Will it recover or should I just clip it off.
@@gardencronicals5909 I thought for sure it was dead but just had to try and save it. I also put triple antibiotic cream around the break. Its just a little smaller than my other one but has gathered steam and is really going good!!
I broke a top of my tomato plant and its super hot at 12pm. I fixed within a hour. the plant was already starting to wither weep. should I leave it in the sun or take it out of sun today
@@ReapingTheHarvest No, the broken part died. I took it off the branch after a week. it was wilted and not taking to the plant. I brought it inside and ran under water and cut broken branch and put in a cup of water. came back to life but died before it could grow roots good enough to replant
@@Hawkslater8 Ah, sorry to hear! Mine has only been a little over a day, but it was slightly wilted today. I think it might make it... If it wasn't a determinate plant I wouldn't worry about it, but I'm afraid I ruined any chance of a harvest if it doesn't make it.
Omg!!! I’m a planner girlie and have plenty of washi!! So glad to learn this method! Thank you so much 😊😊
Thank you for being to the point, my tomato stem snapped below all of my tomatos I have followed your advice hope it works out.
Thank you for the video. Today my wife and I will try to rescue our tomato plant. The plant has 5 (still green) tomatoes above the damaged part.
Glad to know this works. Somehow managed to snap two of my cucumber plants :)

Thats so awful when that happens. Can you repair corn stalks?
@@sarahd3980 you definitely can, now if it works... 😆
Do you think this works if it’s completely severed?
@natalielaming5251 I think you can do it;) Use like a stick or something as a brace and bandage it all together
@@gardencronicals5909 thank you 🙏
Thank you 🙏 It normally is the simple solution x
i hope it applies to all plants i snapped my cutting in a water propagation and i did the same
When do you remove the tape? Mine broken during a hurricane and now it has fruit!🍅😁 I taped it up today.
Sorry for the late reply. Honestly I do think I did remove it. Was fine for the rest of the summer!
What was the name of tape and where can you buy it
It’s called washi tape. You can find it at any craft store or Amazon. 😁
@@leonorahabersham114 thank you
Yes craft store or every staples has washi tape. That is where I get mine!

It is probably istressed out from the break. I would give it a week. It should perk up by then.
@@victoryurbanstead you are right. It is coming back. I am so 😊
@@sarahd3980 Yay, glad the tip helped it heal 🥰

Did your plant make it? I did the same thing.

So does it eventually heal?
Yes, it will heal itself.
Thank you
Link to the tape plz
Just simple washi or gardeners tape!
That's amazing 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
I didn't do this in a timely manner...darn!
Awe bummer, atleast you'll be prepared for the future!
Tomato plants are notoriously robust. I was hoping to see the finished result on a cucumber plant, rather than a “hopefully”.
