Totally agree-except about the RV, which belongs to his friend’s friend. 😆 But really, Mohan and Gita are one of the best movie couples I can think of. They’re both civic-minded idealists who are actively working to make the world a better place, they use their privilege for good, they clearly enjoy discussing and debating important issues with each other, they challenge each other, and while they’re both obviously good-looking, they’re mainly attracted to each other’s minds.

Rana in Piku was a green flag. His mother and sister were kinda toxic and kaleshi (from what i understood) so him dealing with them by yelling at them sometimes is okay. That does not make him a red flag.

As Spaceman and Kirti pointed out, we can infer that Sunny was only 17 or 18 when he was sent to do his undergrad at Yale by Kamal, who then got Ayesha married when she was 21. In a conservative, classist, sexist environment, it’s pretty unreasonable to expect a teenage kid to stand up to his dad’s wealthy, powerful boss about dating/marrying the boss’s daughter (likely jeopardizing his father’s job), or for the boss’s teenaged daughter to go against her father’s wishes. When Sunny and Ayesha finally have it out, they each accuse the other of abandoning them, but Sunny didn’t “take off,” and Ayesha didn’t “marry the first guy who came along,” so much as Kamal sent Sunny away-subtly making Ayesha feel abandoned-and then after she finished her studies, marrying her off while Sunny was out of the picture, making Sunny feel abandoned. Kamal manipulated them into doing what he wanted, which was to not do what they wanted. They were two kids who were understandably too intimidated and weighed down by family and societal pressures to fight for and follow their hearts-which is one of the themes of the film.

Totally agree about laila from ZNMD. She's annoying and also unrealistic - not the taking initiative part (that's completely fine) - but just the way she talks in the film, bro, who talks like that? So much falsafa in casual conversation, she didn't feel like a complete well thought out character, she felt more like a representation of the ideas that the writers wanted to convey about living life to the fullest etc
Kirti is amazing - I really hope we get to see her in more episodes! Can I just say...ZNMD characters are really not that deep. Every character represents an Issue and they have to work through that Issue through the course of the film. Hrithik's character is a workaholic, Farhan's character is a playboy with daddy issues, Abhay Deol is...spineless. And Kalki's character is one of the worst written female characters ever - theres literally a joke about her being a bad driver and i thought that was so offensive, like whats the joke there? Women can't drive?

She is annoying and preachy and doesn't feel like a proper character because she is just an idea and not fleshed out. He was a good guy who was okay that things didn’t work out between them but gladly took her dad’s help. He somewhere had to have known why her dad is paying for his whole school. (To separate them)
Rani didn’t swat her fil’s hand only bc of that singular moment. It was all of the build up. That man being a father doesn’t negate the person he is. He was being horrible throughout and him raising his hand was the last straw. The LEAST Rani could have done is swat his hand away. I was appalled at Rocky’s character for not standing up then and then being offended. Him not standing up during that moment would make me break up with him

Sometimes you need someone to help you show how to grow and that is not a bad thing especially since they are friends and he came from a protected bubble.... If a guy would be shown helping his female friend grow, he is a green flag but if konkana is doing it she is taking a project? Sneyhil has been quite sexist this episode i believe ....
