The early impressions of Zach Wilson was "excellent leader with an accurate throw". I trust none of the early impressions.
Excellent leader with an accurate throw is crazy. But I agree with you fully
@@Mikerophoneyea crazy is right. Their has never been anything good said about zach after draft day
@@MikerophoneLet Drake and Milton grow bruh. If Drake's better, he will start. If Milton is better he will start. But Drake's probably gonna get the job cause of his draft position, age, and more room to grow.
@@kjdixon11that's not true. They said exactly what was said here. He was actually pretty hyped up until he actually played a down. 🤷
@@kantovagrant3194a 6th round pick is not starting over a 3rd overall pick.
Why are people talking about a guy being a bust when they were drafted like 3 weeks ago and they haven't played a single game?
Only bust I know for a fact is a bust is Caleb Williams
Because there are a bunch of losers and pessimists idiots.
@@Royalnut90the chances of Caleb being a bust is very very slim. Caleb has the arm to make every throw. And probably has the most offensive talent a #1 pick qb has ever had.
Maye has way higher chance of him being a bust. Defensive HC. No talent on offense and is in the harder conference and division.
@hasani2723 true but man sometimes a players lands on the wrong franchise
@Royalnut90 let's come back to this in 6 months
We talking bout rookie mini camp, not a game not a game, rookie mini camp! 😂
Lmfaoooo 😂 🤣
Are we talking about practice?
Playoffs!?!?!?
I know right? I have never seen people care about rookie minicamp until this year.
He actually went down the "bust" line a month into rookie mini camp 😂
It was established well before the draft that Drake Maye was a rough prospect. He has natural talent, size, athleticism, and a strong arm. He lacks several things as well. Accuracy, timing, reading defenses etc. It's up to the Patriots to develop the kid and everyone knew that ahead of time as he is simply not a finished product at this time.
that was a great take.
THIS!
Definitely not where you should be using a top 5 nfl pick
They haven't played a game or even got to training camp yet I expect some mistakes in OTAs
Exactly Sir @@mroviedo.
I can’t wait for Drake to prove all of these haters wrong.
Nah he's a bust😢
This is why we have preseason
@@DawnBultmanhonestly who are you lmao 😂

@@jwissinboot4898 drake didn’t play in the bowl game bud

I agree with you
Nfl is a different world. Drake might turn out to be great, or the league might chew him up and spit him out. I've seen a lot of great, top of the 1st round pick, college QB's do terrible when they got into the NFL. And I've seen QB's that weren't expected to do much go on to have hall of fame careers. Only time will tell.
Idk if anyone is surprised a Lineback/Defense Minded HC said his new rookie QB has a lot to learn.
Thank you
Because he would never listen to OC and position coach and would just spout shit off the cuff?!
Huh? A defensive coach can read a QB just as well as a QB coach or OC. The position their coach played studies the QB and is one of his keys. Idk what you're inferring or the person you commented "thank you"
@mike, you love it?? 😂
I can tell you Mayo didn't want Maye at all and why they doubled down with Milton. Mayo is bias ASF and Maye didn't meet the criteria he wants in a QB.
bros been thro one rookie minicamp, and people think he's a bust
This is the national media, they just get some headline and run with it. They really don’t know anything about each team. I don’t expect anything actually insightful to come out of this.
It is better to struggle at the start, rather than struggle in the long run. How many times have we seen struggles of prospects at the start of their professional careers to thrive in the long run, while we see the superstars of training camp only to burn out later in the season? Think of CJ Shroud. He was terrible in Pre-season, but he needed that time to nail down his ability to read and anticipate.
The Shroud of Texas maybe?😂😂
Love same way
Let’s not forget that they drafted Joe Milton as insurance
I think mayo was most likely just setting expectations that he won't be the week 1 starter.
Typical Mike video. Talks about the context/back story for 75% of the video. Then focuses on one thing for the other 25% of it, and completely hypes up a talking that could be done 30 seconds.
Love it.
Making 30 seconds into ten minutes may be a problem, but making 10 minutes' worth into 57 minutes of video is far worse.
Patriots are one of the worst places Drake could have kanded
Just helping “landed”
midessota vikings wont ever win anything either tbf
@@AintNoWayeyeah but they have a better chance than the patriots who havent won shit since brady

Last year we all said similar things about C.J. Stroud and how Bryce Young was superior and look where they both are now.
Bryce Young is better. He went to a terrible, terrible team with a terrible, terrible owner! Give him a line and watch him eat defenses.
@@TheLastRomantic68 I'm not saying either one is better than the other, I'm just saying we criticized Stroud for being dumb and not being able to pass a math test and he succeeded in the league so you never know which qb from this draft could be a bryce young and which could be a stroud
The Patriots need to let it ride with Jacob Brissett for as long as possible, not just this year.
How is he put in the same situation as Mac with entirely new coaching staff? Built around him in the draft? do research man😂
Still not a very good team with a defense minded coach staff. They are in similar situations to say the least
@@DamerocksFulno theyre not rere
@@DamerocksFul no they aren’t lmao. He has a real OC now who worked with elite qbs, the hc actually thinks development is important, they have a actual oline & wr coach now as well.
@@DamerocksFul Mac had a dc and his offensive coordinator this is two different scenarios. Drake will be fine with a good oc who has good history with developing rookies and new league players
@@AintNoWayewell this is the same clown that thought we should keep Mac jones. I never take him serious the dude always click-baits his videos
Well, nobody’s perfect. 😅
If QB Drake Maye is a bust, remember that the New England Patroits sixth round pick is the former Tennessee Vols QB Joe Milton.
As a pats fan I personally think that he could develop well with the second round pick wr but we should also try to trade for a good offensive line men
This reminds me of the Washington situation years ago with Griffin n Cousins. Patriots drafting Milton in the 6th, is an insurance policy. Not comparing talent but just opportunity
I still just love that you show the Bucs love in your intro. In the Tampa area, they feel as big as any other team. Seems like everywhere else, they forget that the Buccaneers even exist.
Get this man to a milli! I been said that! 💯 great content as always 🤙🏼
😂 So we're really basing players off of rookie minicamp huh?
I mean, they were right about Mac during rookie minicamp lol
I think a big reason he could be an upgrade to Mac is he won’t have the fear Mac had been playing with ingrained in him yet. Still might happen since they decided to take a Qb first instead of building up a stronger offense, but that’s just the rebuild philosophy i subscribe to the most. Situation is key. CJ Stroud likely would’ve been even better if he came into a really good situation. Drake is just gonna have to fight for his life for a season or two before they can really get good results.
when your wrs are me my uncle and flight i definitely see why someone can be struggling
It’s almost like the pats literally planned this when they signed a veteran qb to play this season and help a rookie, developmental qb this season
Exactly in my opinion smart move
I don't get the big deal here. Before and during the draft all we heard about was that he was a draft and develop type prospect that has a lot to work on. So nothing has changed from draft day to now, is anybody surprised by this?
I triple dog dare you to make a video about Harrison Butker’s speech. 😂😂😂
Didn’t Mike make the exact same video when Mac hones was in training camp 😂
Remember Jamar chase had the case of the drops before his first game is when I officially just waited for my 26 games to make a judgement call
that last instrumental always hits. what’s the name of it??
I have faith in my patriots. Plus they plan on sitting him for a year anyways. So all this is irrelevant. This new coaching staff got him.
Sucks you have a race baiting woke head coach.
Exactly and have another great surge next year's draft and the Patriots could really make a leap.
@Mikerophone As a pats fan I think a good QB elevates his teams more than anything. Who was Cooper Kupp before Matthew Stafford stepped in. Also the Texans had literally no weapons when CJ stroud stepped in. Stefan Diggs did not even reach superstar status before he had a viable qb step in like Kirk Cousins. Yeah the pats did Mac no favors with Matt Patricia hiring, but Mac’s noodle arm did our receivers and our offense no favors either.
2. Drake Maye’s situation is not bad. He is playing across a top 5 defense when healthy. Also the patriots really crushed the draft by getting Jalen Polk and Javon Baker and Jaheim Bell as weapons and some new O line players to protect him. Also another good part of Drake Maye’s situation is that the pats coaching staff and front office is brand new so they have the patience to develop Maye since they are not on the hot seat
I'm appalled that the Patriots passed up three first round picks that is insane. I would of took that in a instant.
We're acting like he can't sit behind jacoby brissett for a year to develop
Here we go whit the fake news mikerphone always attends to hate on my team 😂
its weird tbh😭😭 bro using non confirmed reports and adding the same worn out rhetoric

SKOL, we are happy in MN!
Obviously with this guy's haircutt, he's a Chief's fan 😂😂😂😂
I love how he conveniently left out the part of the Vikings trade that included the pats giving up picks besides just the 3rd overall pick in that offer
Bro. Imagine being Drew Bledsoe. lmao!
Yeah being a multi millionaire is depressing
Belichick NEVER would've given up acquiring Vikings offer of #11, #23 & 2025's 1st Rd pick 😮 😂. Patriots may regret this. Hope JJ works out for the Vikings as they have little left in 2025's draft
Still have 4 picks and we will get a 3rd round comp pick. Remember the draft picks given up allowed us to get the QB of the future and arguably the best defensive player in this years draft.
@@bradhagen5060 Never would've happened had the Patriots accepted Vikings original stupid offer. But glad to see things worked out well for the Vikings, not so good for the Patriots. Pats missed out on some big picks
he wasn't supposed to be lights out from day 1
I have confidence in him..Like they all he just has to come up to NFL SPEED
The curse continues love see flightreacts in pain 😂😂
Flight Reacts isn't even a real fan to me when all he watches is highlights.
As a Pats fan, I would like to see us do something similar to the Detroit Lions. Start off the rebuild with a QB who has an above market contract and build around him, then 2-3 years down the line you can go out and get a QB in the draft and set him up for success right away.
What exactly has Jerod Mayo done as a coach to say that he has done a good job? If you don't want to label Drake May as a bust because he hasn't played a game, the same should go the same for Jerod Mayo. He hasn't coached a single game in the NFL.
However, the fact remains the mistake Pats made prior to the draft. You didn't NEED to get rid of Mac Jones and get back peanuts when you still had him on a rookie deal. You could have traded all those picks that Vikings had to rebuild your team, while still have Mac Jones at QB. Perhaps get a stud OL and WR. Or drafted Marvin Harrison Jr., a can't miss WR. If Mac Jones still doesn't pan out, you would get another high pick to get your QB of the future.
What can't miss qualities does Drake May have? Mac Jones has a better ceiling as a rookie than Drake May has, even if Mac was a rookie. Now, Mac already has 2 years experience in reading NFL defense and film study. You will need to start over with Drake May. Only problem Mac has is that he has lost confidence in his OL, which you could have solved by drafting 2 solid OL in a talented depth class.
Once you drafted Drake May, just who are the players you surrounded him with? Any WRs or RBs that scare you? Any top 5 players at their position? It will probably be the same type of WRs that can't get separation.
Literally they planned this early on when they signed Brissett and are being patient about Maye and are in no rush to throw him out there unless he’s shown he’s light years better than Brissett in training camp. They want to develop him they want to make him the best he can be before we kill his confidence like Mac like a Zach Wilson. Study reads study progressions nfl game planning continue to perfect his mechanics. He’s 21 years old if they fix the few minor things to improve with him and continue to build this offense which I think they had a great start with this years draft. Polk and Baker are 2 guys that fit his best targets in college they have a great catch radius and if his throws are off they’re able to fight for the ball and bring it in bailing him out. Yeah the line is the big question no doubt on that but if they fall into the top 10 for the draft next year there’s the dude of LSU there’s the dude from Texas they can draft and they’ve got their career left tackle. Patriots have silently done great for a team no one wanted to come to this offseason, brought back their key guys and got guys to build and grow with their QB. It’s up to the new coaching staff to help make him the best he can be and if they succeed he’s gonna have a great career.
First team to go 0-17 in regular season. I’m ready for it
When will teams learn never draft a qb outta north Carolina in the 1st rd
I love the brutal honesty by Mayo. Sometimes people need a reality check and need to be told they have a long way to go.
OMG left 3 1st round picks on the table is just so dumb! When Miami traded Tunsil to Houston when Tunsil walked into the conference room and saw what they were getting by trading him even he said Hell I would have trade me too! LoL 😂
His stats were identical to Sam Howell out of college. Drake is just taller.
as a cardinal fan thank god we didint fumble harrison & every team took a qb 😂
What channel was started first... the flight mike or mikerphone
Flight
Is there going to be a video on the lions resigning their players?
8:31 Kofi Kingston in the building!
My personal hope was the Pats would trade back, focus on getting recieivng and offensive line talent, and get Spencer Rattler in a later round. Build a better foundation, start Brissett with an improved roster, and let Rattler marinade for a year or two, and if he doesn't work out, be able to draft a QB in 2025 or 2026 with a better foundation for a young QB then. That said, I like the idea of Maye sitting at first so let him grow into the role, which Mac Jones never got the luxury of.
Isn’t that what they did tho with there second pick drafted a pretty decent wr that played in an offense with a generational talent odunze. Got some lineman that they can try to develop and got a hidden gem in the 5th round
Thank god you’re not a GM because this such a 🤡 comment
Well the problem is most people see Mitch trubisky when they look at Drake Maye
And we have our first official bust coming into the season 😂
Missed on Getting calvin ridley
He’s a rookie with Walmart cashiers as “weapons” like what did you expect?
Intuition is significant.
Any job interviewer knows if this is the guy or gal in 30 seconds. On the same scale, seeing Maybe glitch, seeing him doing everything with his legs except the right thing, seeing him go through his throws in painful full slow motion, oh no, how stupid could Mayo be?
As if we didn't know the odds of finding anyone close to the next TB12.
I wish this kid nothing but the best. Hope they manage him correctly.
Going into the draft, I viewed Drake Maye as a boom or bust prospect. As a Patriots fan, I hoped the team would trade down from three to build the rest of the team before taking a quarterback. They needed so much more than just a quarterback. (Mac Jones was made the scapegoat for all the Patriots problems in 2023, but it wasn't all him. No, I'm not saying Mac was blameless, as he made his share of mistakes.) Last season the Patriots had a terrible offensive line and receivers that couldn't separate. Remember that the Patriots signed Jacoby Brissett as a free agent. He will mentor Maye and likely start at QB until Maye is ready. No reason to rush Maye into starting. The offensive line is still a huge question mark, especially since there is no left tackle on the roster. NO, Caedan Wallace (the third-round pick) is not a left tackle.
Im sorry but im not worried its been like 2 days in training camp. Mayo is saying the most broad statement in existence, a rookie has a lot to work on in coming into the nfl. Duh. Cant wait to see what the kid does so lets take this with a grain of salt
Patriots Receice:
2025 #16 overall pick (assuming they're a mid tier team) and a 6th round pick
Giants Receive:
#3 overall pick.
According to your Giants trade offer text, the Patriots would've netted a 6th rd pick to move back an estimated 13 spots in the first rd as the Gaints didn't even offer a 1st rd pick swap.
As a browns fan I just want to say welcome to qb hell pats fans gonna be a long ride
A seagull is an upgrade from Mac Jones
I knew he was going to struggle when they drafted Joe Milton. It's RG III and Kirk Cousins all over again, except in New England.
Did you really just say “as said by his ex coach” referring to drake maye and show belicheck what are we doing mike lol. Also same situation as mac jones but an entirely different coaching staff? Cmon man
NE fan/resident here.
My opinion and hopes are that they dont rush him in. I'm ok with them starting Jacoby Brisette for the whole season or two.
Unless Maye, Polk, and Baker just light it up the whole preseason against 1st team reps with some crazy chemistry. Then let him sit and take itvall in.
Damn, saying no to THREE first round picks for Drake Maye is one hell of a gamble.
I’m a Pats fan and I feel good about the pick. Vikings should have Offered a 2026 1st round pick. We wanted a godfather deal
Idk if I even believe that
First hi love your video Mike and keep up the great work you are awesome
When Bo Nix is getting better accolades from his coach than the #3 pick, it makes you wonder WTF the scouting departments were thinking.
This is a situation where I think him sitting his first year would be the right call.
This is giving me 49ers vibes with Trey lance, in Joe Milton we trust 💯
When do you usually post your prizepicks on your story, And how often. Hoping i don't miss them, Don't want to check mutiple times a day lol. Go cowboys
I feel like at this point we all know the best strategy is to build the team and then get the QB so you don’t risk destroying a young talent like we’ve seen done so many times
They shoulda drafted Marvin Harrison jr and built their offense and drafted a qb next year or in the 26 draft
Bro there were concerns b4 the draft. This was already known and he was clearly the most cencerning out of the top5 QBs coming into thr draft. Not a surprise
Pats in trouble
Already?????? Cmon bruh he can’t be this sorry 😂
Bill Belichick isn't low talking anymore?
Few quarterbacks are successful with poor offensive lines.and crappy receivers. I remember watching the Giants of the 1960s who were a classic example of this. Fran Tarkington was running for his life with almost no one who could catch the ball and hold on to it. The only exceptions being Joe Morrison and Aaron Thomas , who passed away this week.
Giants never planned to actually trade.
Was dumb af drafting a qb with the protection available
This is the exact same predicament the Giants are in. Everyone wanted a qb. Only difference Giants had saquan. Now they dont....
As a die hard Pats fan, i knew we screwed up taking Drake. Since we couldn't get Jaden Daniels we should have just settled for Marvin Harrison Jr and stayed with Jacoby for the rest of the season and THEN take a QB but that's just me
Time always tells.
The Patriots have Jackoby Brisett on the roster, so they can give Drake May a full year ss an apprentice ah la Patric Maholms.
The Bengals also did the same thing with Carson Palmer
Everyone should have known Jerod Mayo was gonna be a bust at coach after those race comments
Patriots will be cursed for at least another decade because of the Kraft-belichick-Brady curse.
Who was the last QB out of North Carolina that had all the tools, but didn't play a lot and didn't start many college games and was drafted in the first few picks of the draft he was in? Mitch Trubisky went #2 in 2017 draft after having a decent junior year (304/447 68.0% 30TD's-6 Int's & 157.9 college QB rating)! Before his junior year he had only 125 pass attempts! Though Maye had 26 starts, it's better than Trubisky's 14 starts in college!
