Yeah, it's quite bizarre to me that even though Virgin ARE hosting authentically country artists in their live theater throughout the NFR Experience (Ryan Bingham, Midland, Tanya Tucker, etc.).............the music they're playing throughout the commons doesn't reflect the occasion in the slightest. Like during EDC Week (I go to EDC regularly and am both a fan of EDM and country music in their own respective, contrasting ways).............you're consistently hearing EDM play throughout Virgin as well as most resorts on-Strip. It's like Virgin is almost neurotic or even mildly ashamed of just going all-out with the country theming: like they're going to scare away and/or alienate clientele that hate country music. Which really doesn't make sense to me considering how dominant country music has been in the mainstream these past several years. But even if that was a concern, they could easily be playing specific artists like Chris Stapleton, Johnny Cash, Sturgill Simpson, Red Clay Strays and Kacey Musgraves to name a handful who have successfully won over audiences well outside of country and have lots of crossover appeal as a middle ground.
