I play rogue as well in Dungeonborne. The first fight with the death knight you did everything well. But don’t forget you have the petrify. I use petrify on the tanky classes to heal back up while they are frozen lol. Works like a charm!
They have been adding more active abilities to choose from so I think they might continue this trend and make it similarly customizeable as DaD. Fingers crossed!
I just started playing and the gear disparity starting out is quite insane, just wailing on a guy with starting gear and he just takes it, then finally lands a hit on you, killing you, and he still is at 80%. That said, I do like the damage numbers, and the exclamation mark on critical hits.
@@dkeane6152 its the same in DaD, I wouldnt be surprised if the gear disparity is miserable, that being said because its so early they have time to tune it and make it fairer

Bro I have played Dark and darker for around 400hours now and Dungeonborne in this and the last playtest. Both are interesting. Both the dev have stated that they are not focusing in the same direction.
Last night I played duo on this map then in the second or last circle a mystical portal (purple) appeared. When u entre there u get to a look a like Lich King Boss. Unfortunualy one of his skeleton adds killed me. The Boss fight is not that hard and u have no time limit there. I found nothing on internet about this boss and his name i forgot. Could you please try him ? :)
I just figured out how to open the overgrown chest. I know that some streamers dont want to be spoilerd about gaming Content so you have the choice. Reply to this comment and i shall share my wisdom or ignore it to find a way yourself
It is in some ways. Less jank in the combat mechanics. But the PvE is alot more challenging, which i enjoy because the main challenge of PvE in DaD is because of the stiff movement
Honestly there really isnt build diversity in dark and darker. I play a lot a maybe 2 classes can actually play different abilities and feel ok. Fighter only uses sprint and second wind. Barb uses rage and Achilles heel/shout. All mages take memory cap and only rogue can play around with different stuff. Pretty kuch everyone takes the same passives because they are the best ones.
I've come back to Dark n Darker after a long break, now that its back on steam you should really give it another try! It has a decent playerbase again and alot more content! I tried Dungeonborne but I really didn't like how the combat felt, much prefer the less forgiving nature of Dark n Darker combat (even if it can be brutal at times)

I am personally getting sick of both fandoms constantly comparing the games as if they're similar. I am a Dark and Darker for life guy, it just appeals to me massively on a fundamental level because I like the sort of hyper-accurate hitbox thing they're aiming for, and the way one manipulates their camera and viewmodel in Dark and Darker to make fine head movements etc fascinates me. I also much prefer the more classical fantasy theme. It feels far more immersive to me, almost more like a dungeoneering simulator than a game. Dungeonborne like you say is way more like Diablo, and the skills feels like MOBA abilities to me. Which is cool. And I can imagine that appeals to a lot of people. It's definitely way "gamier" and arcadey than Dark and Darker. And that's totally fine and valid. Both games do their own thing well enough and can co-exist. Anyway, good videos man.
Gear is too strong. That’s the only issue I have with the game; everything else is pretty great, I like it more the d&d, sacrilege I know; apparently d&d had this problem early on too; idk I wasn’t around than.. what I like most is no class feels too strong or too weak, some are better than others but everything is pretty fun and useable.
I'm digging it....... but when I play trios. We're getting put against people who have been playing nonstop since launch. I know it's not even ea. But I hope they change that
How will they change that? At least from better Players you can learn... Going against someone doing everything Bad, but winning because of Gear is worse

I dont know.... The fans of both games flaming each other is childish stuff to be ignored And i dont know if it is my love for rogue-classes which is really hinderin my chances to love Dungeonborne... The geardifferences and the unbalanced classes are a pain in the butt for me. In both betas i spend a good 100hrs in dungeonborne and 90% of the experience was farming gear in sweaty fights or "pve-rounds" just to get smashed by a longsword as soon as i was completely green. The game seems to be dominated by warriors and mages who just left klick over and over again gettin better gear every match while i get smashed my head in 5 of 6 fights and i tried a lot in those 100 hrs. I hope they get the game and especially the classes somehow to be playabale fun and balanced. But for now 100hrs of dungeonborne made me try Dark and Darker.
Everyone is playing the damn rouge .. Also seriously the door and unlock animation needs to F right off. why do you need to massage everything like a damn freakin cat. Just open and close the door, thats it... it doesn't need to be a damn task. Its not dark and darker

And look what happened, Nikita went off the deep end and tried to assassinate his own game by instituting blatant p2w and backhanded business tactics. Competition is good. This game has a functionally different rhythm and pace compared to dark and darker. It's very existence whether the game succeeds or not is good.
Dark and darker was a clone of cancled game they were working on and nexon. Dungeonbornes combat actually feels good and the classes are more fun. I liked dark and darker when it first came out but the games a dumpster fire
