Cada canción en el disco Octavarium está escrita en una nota diferente, "Panic Attack" fue escrita en Do Menor. La canción describe muy intensamente la experiencia de un ataque de pánico.
El interludio entre esta canción y la siguiente, "Never Enough", está escrito en Do#.
