We are making some new style (to me) tags today. I saw Rachel from Roxy creations doing something like this and I love it, no wasting paper pieces. And the back is as pretty as the front.

I lost my husband two years ago to ALS. He was 68. My kids begged me to move back closer to them, so I did a year ago. I can do most everything, but thankfully, my sweet son lives a half mile from me and comes over almost even day to see if I need anything. It's not easy being alone, for sure.
I found the kit. It is by craft art story. Kit is called Charming Christmas junkjournal kit.
Oh I am so glad you posted that. I think i must have gone through about 5,000!!!!! Lol .Such a gorgeous kit. Many thanks
Edith, those papers are beautiful. If you go to your Etsy account, you can find previous purchases. I know how exhausting it can be when you have to do it all and you already have a full plate. Please remember that your family feels good (and less helpless with worry) when they are allowed to step up and lend a hand. One possibility would be to have a party once a month for your grandchildren and keep a list going of things they could help with (Christmas clean up, tech assistance, etc.) AJ is a godsend and you know he loves to help; and teenagers all love to show how much more they know than you. Bless you and take care.
You've got this, Miss E!! 💜
My husband has been gone 11+ years, and there are still things I wish he was here to do.
Thankfully, my dad made sure that my sisters and I could do a lot of things for ourselves - use power tools, change tires, check oil, basic home repairs, drive a stick, use lawn mowers and snow blowers, etc.
And my grandpa taught me all I know about sports 🙂
I’m with you! My husband spoiled me also and when he died I didn’t even know how to change the furnace filter or many other things around the house! I was only 48 when he died and he hadn’t gotten around to teaching me things that I should know. It’s been over twenty years now and I still hate to ask even my kids for help so I try to do what I can. So all I can say is, ladies, make sure you know how to do even minor things around your house and maintenance on your car because you don’t know what life has in store for you.
Thanks E for all you do. I’ve learned so much from you and you and crafting keep me sane!
Eve, I totally agree with you. I just lost my husband back in August, so like you, I am having to learn to do things on my own too. From one widow to another, Hugs my dear friend.
By the way, your tags are beautiful!
My husband passed away in July (68 yo) it's been a struggle. He did so much that I'm just finding out now. A lot to learn and a lot I need to rely on the kindness of strangers. No family in the area. Trusting God. He is always with me and providing for my needs.
Love this video........even if you know how to do everything ...its hard....I'm a 90 yr old widow x 2.....I found journaling one year ago......I can get lost making tags..love it.....lack of money slows me down....but everyone...keep journaling.....love Ms. E.........
me neither. I can’t even change the smoke alarm battery
You are so fortunate to have your kids and family close. My issue is learning to do things differently, my body just doesn't do what it use to, can't climb on ladders, not as strong, lots slower, and hiring someone is not on my budget. Life is very interesting, and always learning new things. 😊
Ladies find out where to turn off th water to the entire house.. ❤ Widowed 9 years ago my first winter alone I had not a clue to turn off the water that goes outside to the hose. Put the hose away but that pipe froze & burst. What a mess 💕🙏🏼🌷 Oh and the furnace filter too
Mrs E I found them I think the Etsy store is girl one art one word there’s two different sets. There’s one that’s winter Wonderland in one that’s country Christmas. It seems to have the same pictures you’re showing I think.
I found the papers if any one is interested, the papers are from craftartstory❤
Oh Edith, believe me it's just tough period. Even if you know how to do that stuff when you get older and your husband is gone, it's just hard to keep up with everything. And of course we don't want to bug our kids and generally they don't quite understand anyway.
My Dad when my sister and I started to drive he taught us basic auto mechanics and basic home repairs which as helped alot now later in our lifes
When you said you liked to hear your scissors cut, I had a flashback of when I used to sit near my mother while she cut out dress patterns for me and my sister. She didn’t do paper crafts, but she was the best little seamstress…only 4’11”. She’s been gone for many years now, but the sound of good scissors brings back some sweet memories. Love the tags!❤
I’m just like you Edith, I have a hubby who does that stuff. We just celebrated our 41st wedding anniversary. I can only imagine how you feel being without your hubby. I just pray I’m the first to pass. 🌻
You can go into your purchases history. If you remember roughly when you purchased, that will help you to search. The paper is lovely.
I love you and you have such a good heart. Thanks for sharing. Especially the info and your take on being alone. I’ve been in both situations. Ladies learn everything you can!
dear Mrs.E...........that looks great,think I will recreate that...........Blessings and Greetings from Daggy,Kiel,Germany☘☘☘
My mother in law does a lot for herself, but when there are things we need to help her with, she waits until we are ready to leave her house before she asks for help. lol
My father was a carpenter in Ireland and used those skills to come to Canada. He did the outside work and my mother (also from Ireland) did the inside work. She did help when the house was being built by hammering in nails with her high heels. When she passed away my father had to learn to cook, do laundry and housecleaning. He actually like cooking but not cleaning. The house was my mother's domain so she wanted him to stay out of the kitchen and let Dad use his talents elsewhere.
I grew up on a farm, so I can pretty much do anything I need to. I don't do too much today cause my body won't let me. Lol. I love the digital kit you're using. You did good making the tags the way Rachel does. Thanks for sharing, E. 🙂❤️
What kind/model printer do you use to pint your papers? Thank you
I have an HP printer, HP ink and HP paper. I have the printer and my ink program that saves tons of money on printing linked below my video. And I purchase the HP paper from Amazon. www.amazon.com/HP-Papers-Premium28-Laser-Multipurpose/dp/B088LBRXRN/ref=sr_see_details_atc_details?crid=93S3C24ZS13Z&keywords=HP+28lb+paper&qid=1701795192&s=office-products&sprefix=hp+28lb+paper%2Coffice-products%2C139&sr=1-3
Beautiful tags! Almost ten years ago my husband had a mental breakdown and left me. I’m so glad that I did do things for myself before he left so I would know how to do them after he left. Some things I did have to learn by asking for help but I can do most things myself. If you take your diabetic meter to the pharmacy I bet one of the people there can help you figure out what battery it takes. Good luck.
My husband passed away in October of 2022 and like your husband he did everything! Just maneuvering a step ladder to change a ceiling light bulb is a challenge for me. I had to hire someone to do the lawn maintenance and clean gutters! I understand completely what you’re saying! ❤
At one time I didn't but I ended up learning on my own inside and outside work and now I can't do it because I'm disabled which stinks I'd rather be doing it! E I love your stories the funny ones in the serious ones especially about you and your husband and your daughters so please don't stop telling them!❤
Love those tags! I pretty much know how to do almost everything but I have become disabled and if something happens to my hubby I will be in real trouble because I physically would be unable to do some things. My hubby had a widow maker heart attack at 59 but he had a fabulous doctor who saved him, I am blessed, but it could happen again. Hang in there and you should feel comfortable asking the kids for help with all you do to run a business that takes care of them and you. ❤️🤗
My husband is still here, but not capable of taking care of anything.( early dementia ) I have been learning to take care of our home , our elderly dog, our finances, and him. But I know that God walks beside me every day, keeping me from becoming too overwhelmed! God bless you Ms. E
Being married for 43 years my husband does ALL the financing and all the Driving. I don't drive because I choose not to drive because of medical issues and the tint on the car windows is so dark living in Florida, I do have a valid driver's license. But yes, I should learn but I HATE dealing with banking and driving scares me. To many crazy people driving in a hurry to get nowhere. Love the tags and all the things you make.
Lovely project. You make everything fun. My husband has been in rehab after back surgery. I’ve been there every day except for this past Sunday. I was talking to one of his nurses today and she told me he was sad but had understood. She also said he told her how much he loves me. That’s when I broke down. She said that so many people there didn’t have someone to even visit once a week. That just broke my heart. My mom always called me “little Miss Independent”. But now that I’m 67, I’m learning to except some help now and then. Here’s to happier holidays.
Ms. E, don't laugh, but my husband and I stopped putting up a tree. We disagreed when to take down the tree. I said it was the day after Christmas. My theory for what its worth is I am not starting the new year cleaning up a huge mess from the year before. But my husband wanted to keep it until Feb. around Valentines day. Is it hard to figure out who the grinch is in our fam. I love giving gifts, and of course saving the paper for my journals, but how am I going to keep my resolutions about keeping my house clean, if I am still cleaning from last year. lol. Love your creativity. Hugs.
While I still have my husband, I had to learn lots of what he did before his back surgery (20 years ago). Even how to change the oil (that was a horrendous mess) 😂. Because of this, I made sure all our girls knew basic car stuff, especially how to change the oil.
Totally understand. Lost my love many years ago. I had never even put gas in my car becuz he always did it. I had to pay a HVAC man $140 to change a battery in my thermostat when furnace wouldnt turn on. (I didn't realize they needed one). You don't realize just what your husband does around the house until they are gone.
I've never been married or children but I've been looking after my parents one way or another. Dad passed away 14 October 2010 and made me promise to look after Mum which I've been doing ever since in every aspect. She has heart failure but otherwise in good health. On 11 Nov she fell and broke her knee and at age 85 had an operation to fix with screws and plate and only yesterday, the 28th she was transferred for Rehab/stepdown and whenever something like this happen or she gets seriously ill because of her heart failure it always feel as if it is such a long uphill battle for her and me. 😢
I was raised to be independent and then later was a single mom of 6 children so I learned how to take care of a lot of things. I have a wonderful husband for 28 years now and he's spoiled me in many ways, but he also has some debilitating health issues so cannot physically do all the things HE thinks the man should do, so I have had to step up and do a lot more. Both of us are in our 60's so age is catching up to us. Though we have a big family, they are busy with their own lives so not able to help us with yardwork or other bigger tasks, but the LORD has blessed us with a lovely Mennonite neighbor family who have graciously helped us with so much yardwork. The only thing I would have to learn how to deal with is the TV if my husband were gone. I am computer-proficient, but the TV is his domain. That's not something I'm too worried about, however. I'm glad your family is able and willing to help you when needed!
I would do the same thing with my hubby too we learn to be sneaky. And yes I always ask him how to do it so I can do it too. Your lucky you have kids to help you, I couldn’t have kids, broke my heart when I was told I could never have kids. I could do all that too inside, outside and took care of my car care on engine changing tires. It was just mom and me for years so I did it all. But I love it and wish I could still do it but I had a stroke five years ago and no w I love crafting. And especially watching you craft and I try to craft a long with you!!! I love you and wish I lived next door to you, big hugs to you, God bless you always my friend ♥️♥️♥️💜💜💜🥰
That is pretty paper, made some really beautiful tags. Being a single mom for a time I had to learn to do everything, but the Hubster seems to think I either don’t know how or can’t physically do it, and takes over. I am constantly asking him who he thinks does it when he is not home. LOL (he is gone 48 out of 72 hours)
My husband's been gone 12 years and my kids don't live near by, so I know exactly what you're talking about. I have to hire someone for most things, which is hard on the bank account. I'm sorry you're going through this too. Love to you and your family.
These tags are beautiful, it's a shame you don't remember where it came from cuz I surely would order it. My husband does everything for me too except for paperwork, paying bills and ordering things for the house. He takes care of everything else. I already know how to do a lot of the things that need done but getting to old to do them unfortunately but I do know how to write checks lol. Anyway thanks for the chat it was very pleasant this morning. TFS
I've always have had a independent personality. Probably due to my upbringing. So when my, now ex, didn't want to do something, he'd mess up whatever it was, so I'd just do it. At the end of the marriage, I did everything except mow the yard and shovel the snow. That was all he would do. Then he had the gall of excusing me of treating like a child because, I wouldn't let him do anything! We went to one counseling session where he told the counselor that he was really good at getting people to do things for him. He drank a lot and was never available when I needed him. He was always passed out drunk. So being on my own for the last 20 plus years, if I didn't know how, I learned how or found resources to get it done.
Yes Edith it is tough. When my mother passed away suddenly at 62 my Father was like a fish out of water. They had a very traditional marriage. She did everything inside and he did everything ele. He had never cooked a meal or washed any clothes. Nothing to do with house keeping. He lived twenty years more and sadly never came to terms with it. His two daughters in law took him cooking and invited him over at least once a week but he was never truly happy. Sorry to sound gloomy but he just wouldn't try. Anyway you aren't doing that so hang in there. Love you tags today. 💖 Val Australia 🐨
My husband psssed away 16 years ago. I know how to do a lot of things, but I turned 80 this year amd my kids wont let me do a lot. Im glad my oldest son lives wite now. Im in trouble if I dont call on him. So I feel you. So ladies learn what you can. You will be glad you did🤗
.Pretty tags.
He sounds like a wonderful man. You have the kind of marriage I wanted . Mine is good, 51 years together. But he is not thoughtful.
I’m sorry to hear of your loss, sounds like you had an amazing time together, I’m glad you have family that will help you… I love this paper kit you are using..
I love your tags! Im like you. I have been married 41 years and I don't know how to do all that either.
I learnt almost everything in my twenties. My ex was in the navy so I’d have to learn to do things myself. Working & having 2 kids after awhile it became natural.
My Etsy purchases can be found under the icon thst says You. Hope this helps for you. Enjoyed watching the process of making the tags.
I love watching your videos because you also tell about your life.
I live alone as well and I confirm: learn everything you can! That gives you the freedom not to depend by others.
You were so blessed to have a husband that loved you and took care of you I never had any of that since 1993 I have had to do everything, raising my girls after the ex forced us out of our home. Long story. Anyway, 7 years ago my older brother lived 2 doors away, and he did everything for his wife and did some things for me when he could . Well, he died August 8th and I have been devastated and so has his widow now my sister wants me to live close to her, and nobody has ever said they wanted me around before. I'm 69 years old and hoping I can move near my sister and her husband .
Have a blessed day, I loved these tags
Dear Edith, on your easy account go to your account on the top right corner and choose purchases...then you can scroll to the 2022 purchases. Love your videos. many thanks.
My dad died when I was eleven and I watched my mom go through all the things you are talking about. That made my sisters and I very independent, which came in handy when my husband was deployed to Iraq and now that he is disabled.
You will learn, your son in laws will teach you. Sounds like they are good men.
The paper is so pretty, I get frustrated cuz my hubby shows me how to do every thing, I know it's good and comes in handy ,
I agree, it is a chore to take the decorations down. I’m not doing anything this year because I will be visiting a daughter most of the month. But I will be watching your videos.
I lost my husband 40 years ago.He was 39 and had a massive heart attack. Never married again and I had to learn.
Our kids and I learned together 😊
I sometimes do things the hard way too. But I can't have someone just take over for me when I'm trying to do it myself, unless I hand it off due to me being flustered with it.
I read a statistic years ago that 87% of married women will end up alone through death, divorce, or separation at some point in their life. I made it a point after I read that to be as independent as possible. I have also been happily married for over 47 years so far to a truck driver who is only home 1 week out 5.
You' re doing good Miss E. Thank you for sharing your talent and your life. Your laughter is awesome.
It's absolutely gorgeous paper. I grew up being taught how to do all that myself, when I got married I taught my husband how to maintain small engines, maintain the car and other things around the house his dad was gone so much so was never taught. I love ❤️ all your Tags they are gorgeous the girl is so vibrant. 😍
Very pretty tags and love the paper. Raised my 3 children by myself so I had to l learn how to do things for myself.
I know how to do a lot of stuff checking the oil in the car stuff like that my husband had a massive brain stroke alittle over 2 years ago he is still with me but I have to do everything, I sold our house and bought a small one so I can handle everything, I do all the yard work all the cooking cleaning and taking care of him, so I know you will figure it all out dear lady.
Neat tags!
I hope you can find that paper. I'd like to know, also.
My prayers are with you. I can hear your sadness in your story when you talk about your hubby. I also am having a hard time this Christmas I lost my mom at the end of July this year so its very different this year.
Beautiful tags❤Thank you so much for all the freebies from your email🎄
Your creativity is infectious, this is so lovely thank you again for inspiring me 😍 x
Had to go back and check I watched every tutorial and made a comment ❤❤ love the pockets ❤❤
These are really pretty and E I lost my Husband August 12 of this year but he was not the one who did everything I was the one that did everything but there is still a void in my life
I think that Christmas digital is from Craft Art Store and it’s called Charming Christmas
I am soooo sorry!!!! When my brother past we don't have much help
love your combos and colors, thanks again.
Love your tags! Sorry to hear about your husband… God bless you. ❤
I am mostly blind so I am just trying not to break a bone. I had a brother that was my go to…. I miss him a lot.
Great advice Edith, Great that you have kids that help out also!
Just found your channel. Thank Hou for sharing. I love you journal with the vibrant color. I have for years journaled in a leather bound journal and I add my own stickers etc. You give me inspiration. Where can I buy the paper you used? Or can I buy your journals?😊❤.
Well the journal is already sold, but the paper is called Charming Christmas and I purchased it on Etsy from Craftartstory.
Beautiful! Thanks for sharing!
Beautiful papers for beautiful tags. Merci😊
Miss E. I know just how you feel. I live along now and it is tough

Just beautiful tags Edith, you never disappoint, my mother has been gone for 11 years, I still pick up the phone to call her. It's love Edith and that's difficult to forget; but thank goodness for memories and pictures. Take care. :)
Hi Edith. Hope you have a lovely day. I ❤ your tags. The pictures is gorgeous. Enjoy your day. GOD bless take care. Bye bye
Those are really pretty, I love that paper! TFS!🥰
These tags and pockets for them are Absolutely stunning! Your journal is going to be amazing when it’s finished. Debs. 😊
It IS hard Miss E. You eventually learn things over time but it’s not easy or instant. It’s hard. Thinking of you and praying for strength, comfort and peace.
i love your tags and pocket tfs Edith ❤ My hubby had a stroke in February, so I am lucky he is here to tell me where things are or how to do it if he can't.
Also do a video that is helpful
Special. Thanks.
These tags are beautiful. The journal is so lovely ❤ Thank you, E, for the continued videos. I enjoy watching and the chats. Like old friends over tea.
Miss E, I received the notice for your new freebie digitals. Thanks so much for your generosity. They are beautiful images ❤
These are so cute. I absolutely LOVE the kit you used.
Looks like I am going to have to learn how to do home maintenance IF I decide to keep my home in my divorce. I will still need to know how to do stuff if I don’t though too cuz I would end up moving and have a different place to take care of.
I checked your list but did not see it listed. Do you remember where you ordered the clear storage envelopes where you had your labels? Thank you!
Amazon, they have many different sizes and colors, that one was the 7x9 inch. amzn.to/482lNgZ
@@SCRAPBOOKINGWITHMECRAFTS thank you I appreciate it. 🤗💜
Lovely tags!
Perhaps you might find the kit if you look back through your past Etsy purchases? Beautiful tags!
