Huge thanks to Austin Thornton for working the Camera and letting us use his car for the video
Bro please keep making these videos! I love them and it’s helping me work on my 2006 eclipse. That car means a lot to me since it was handed down to me when my brother passed. So these videos mean a lot and I’m watching all of them!
Really appreciate that man! I now own Autocityimports.com so feel free to shoot me an email at info@autocityimports.com. I'll see if i can help you out on some parts when your ready to order some stuff!
I just drove my new 07 eclipse gt home earlier tonight. Here I am immediately looking for short throw shifters and how to install them lol. It drives and handles great, I think a shorter throw would make it even better.
Thanks to you, I learned something today. Really good video.
Thanks for the video, great demo.
are there any additional steps for the 6 speed?
Just got my first 4g (GT)...someone gave it to me. I thought a short shifter would be a good place to start. Thanks for the video...VERY helpful. Any other suggestions for 1st mods to do on it...?
Sum rims and in my opinion a good side bodykit would give your GT a nice look 👀
This won't work on a gt. Reverse lockout means you need a specific shifter with a different install
Great video, thanks. How do you install the Reverse Lock Mechanism?
the solid bushings are they going over or under the base???
Awesome video man
Are the steps the same for a 2008 GT V6?
Any idea what the four flat washers that came with my short shifter are for... don't read anything in the instructions about it or in this video?
Those are probably the shifter base bushings. Are they sold and like a quarter inch thick?
@@4GEclipseHowToACI no, i got those new bushings to replace the old ones with rubber grommets...these look like standard flat washers.
Great video! I have a question about the aftermarket head unit, i have a 07 eclipse gt and comes with the subwoofer, by installing this headunit will my sub still work? Or do i need like a type of amp? And do you knw where i can get the face plate for the screen?
Thanks for all the help! And keep the videos coming! 👍
you will need to purchase a MITO-01 harness to retain your stock RF subwoofer and door speakers with an aftermarket head unit. you can find dash kit on ebay along with crutchfield.com
Jason Willis Thanks for the info! Im looking forward to getting it!
Help! When cutting off the seals from the locknuts, do I need a new pair to have em replace the old ones? And second, how do I get the locking mechanism off since i have a six speed GT. Please reply. Much appreciated
The ralco's come with new locking push on washers that you grind off. I've personally never done the 6 speed so i apologize i cant be of much help on the lockout for the reverse on the 6 speed.
@@4GEclipseHowToACI I decided to go lockless on the transmission. I'll just have to be careful when I go into first.
But now I think the shift I ordered is "too long" at the bottom. Is that why we replace the bushings on the shifter mount?
@@PHLEEDO it's supposed to be longer on the bottom. That's what makes it shorter shifts between gears
@@4GEclipseHowToACI right, but I guess since the V6 is a tad different. I'm having to cut off some of the plastic from the base where the transmission links/shift rods are at.
If I wanted to take the short throw out of a car and put it in a new one, is there a way I can just take the whole white piece and swap it?
Brooo i got a gs with 75shot nitrous kit from ZEX lol its soo much better with nitrous. I'm at 280 with tune, cold air intake, headers by rre and clutch oem since it still works upto 400hp and same tq roughly
Does this work on automatics? Mine is stuck on reverse
No
Well, either way, thanks to your video, I was able to fix my issue either way. My shift got stuck on reverse and I was able to replace the part. I was very confused on how to remove the center piece. Keep the videos up man
