I've actually listened to Manson before I discovered metal, looking for some aggressive music. Dude, you make artists so generous with their answers, it's insane! You are a very gifted podcaster.
I love Jørn and listening to him talk so much. He’s such a unique and weirdly delightful human. Thanks for a great interview, with some great questions. I’ve listened to many of his past interviews, but this one feels far more relaxed and comprehensive. You even asked a few questions that I’ve had myself! How awesome that he gave you almost 2 hours of conversation. As a fan, I’d like to also thank you for driving home how important his work and Mayhem have been. I hope he knows how (as you put it) beloved the band is. Two last comments - I did NOT expect a heartfelt conversation about his dentist. 😂 And…my new favourite Necrobutcher quote: “I love nerds.” 🙌🏼🤘🏼🤌🏼
Amazing interview Andrew & I really enjoyed you’re metal podcast on here allot definitely one of my favourites to listen too for sure! Jørn aka Necrobutcher comes across as a very cool down to earth dude.
@@vladimircokorilo8105 It’s interesting how, after doing this for so long, you somehow find another gear. That said, it really depends on how engaging the person I’m speaking with, and in this case, it was excellent. Thanks as always for the support mate!
Necrobutcher is correct: people in Australia don't litter the streets or write graffiti on walls. On the other hand, here in the U.S., you can see trash in the streets and graffiti on the walls. Great interview 🤘
Don´t mean to burst your bubble mate, but people litter and spray graffiti everywhere no matter how "idyllic" the place is. Norway, Switzerland, Germany, France: it happens everywhere. Obviously not the same level everywhere, but idealizing other countries isn´t all that productive. Edit: haven't been to any african or asian countries so correct me if I'm wrong about the grafffiti and littering. Although I've heard Singapore is serious about littering.
Just popping in here because I realized that one of the most famous photos of Mayhem literally has their name/logo spray painted behind them, on the wall of a train stop. 😂😂
It's a solid concept, but I'd need to go deeper into their work for a while to match my familiarity with bands like Mayhem, Cradle of Filth, or Morbid Angel. Simply researching them now would feel a bit too clinical and detached. Sadly, they never toured Australia, so I missed out on that firsthand experience. Even the metal magazines I used to follow religiously, like Terrorizer and Metal Maniacs, didn't give them much coverage. Despite that, they were an excellent band, and Pete is a legend

This was an excellent conversation. Definitely right up there amongst your top interviews.
