    Do you think portrait or horizontal orientation is best for sunbursts?

      Yes.
      (But, seriously, it depends upon what's in the foreground.)

      @@OrenNoah Very good point!

      Generally I like landscape because that’s the way I see it with my eyes. Although portrait for long deep sun rays.

      Really depend on the composition yeah?

      DBay Boyds Really good point. Feels much more natural. I got into horizontal for website publishing but portrait now for special media. So many variables!

    I guess that will depend on how you balance the main object, the background and the sun.
    But my personal preference is the portrait orientation. You can get closer and have some espace for the sun burst in the background.
    Great work on the tutorials! Simple, quick and fun to watch!

      Thank you Marcelo. I'm trying to make them casual and fun to watch while also simple and easy to understand. I agree with you 100% about the balance in the frame portrait vs horizontal 👌

    are these settings which are always nice to keep or rather change every single dive

    • @BrentDurand
      @BrentDurand  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Rick - These sunburst settings are good for shooting sunbursts on most dives. The main factors that would change them are depth and visibility (both of which affect the stregnth of the sunburst).

    I think different lenses also produce different quality sunbursts. As a Nikon shooter, I think the 16-35 mm produces much crisper sunbursts than the 8-15 mm fisheye.

      Hi Arash, that's a very good point. It would actually be interesting to see some side-by-side tests of different lenses in the same shooting conditions.
