thank you so much! I think I have Telogen Effluvium(specifically what has come to be know as" short-cycle anagen" on the internet from using topical Tretinoin in high doses for AGA.....I am still using topical Tretinoin.......will the short-cycle anagen resolve if I stop the topical Tretinoin?

No, not necessarily. Many people don't know (or forget) that androgenetic alopecia is a form of short cycle telogen effluvium. So, with that behind us, if your AGA is 100 % treated, then the answer is more likely to be yes. If your AGA is 0% treated, or 20 % treated or 80 % treated or 99% treated by not 100 % treated, then the answer is no. Shedding continues. Many people largely ignore the shedding that goes along with AGA. Certainly tretinoin itself can worsen things but if your AGA is not properly treated, then much of this won't resolve completely. Be sure to see an expert to advise. Countless people go on and on wondering why they have a telogen effluvium and what is the cause - when the cause is right in front of them and that is AGA that needs more aggressive treatment.

@@donovanmedical9780 thank you so much...yes before the TE, the Tretinoin , Finasteride, Minoxidil, spironolactone topical treated the AGA wonderfully it was an extreme before and after-my hair was remarkably long and full (including my arm and leg hair) but my hair got so dense that I was using too much of the topical-it was actually difficult to find "scalp real estate" . My doctor(who had never seen the" before" edition reduced the amount I could get(prescribed by the PA) and also we switched up the formula...my hair shed(including my arm and leg hair). ...this(the arm and leg hair factor) leads me to believe the topicals were affecting my serum levels-probably Minoxidil. The .025% tretinoin was causing a lot of exfoliation probably increasing the absorption. The shed happened too dramatically to be an escalation of the AGA (only). The Hair Loss doctors in Atlanta, Georgia USA are not really that knowledgeable....they see dense short hairs and think my hair is recovering from TE, but do not realize it has been that length for a while. I will try to book an online appointment with you -I know it will be months...it is just very frustrating having had my dream hair-fuller than in college at 52 years old...and now this hair that has a long part and another part shorter than it has ever been....in a MOSTLY diffuse pattern ...sigh....thank you for your time and attention...and letting me rant
