I came here due to "VIla do Chaves" a channel about Chavo and Chapolim, and other TV shows made by Chespirito, the biggest Mexican TV Star all the times. This channel, Vila do Chaves made a video about one of the most beloved openings of Chapolim in Brazilian TV, and mentioned your video when talking about this music, maybe related to the music of opening of the show.
Buck Owens tune. One of his polka type tunes. People forget that Buck was a session guitarist for Capital Records (LA) before he became famous on Hee Haw.
O that telly sound so beautiful and of course you Jay a brilliant player, I have a Telly as well just love them I bought in 1968 mine has an ebony fingerboard......but you can make it talk.....super stuff, maybe you could do another take on that one and speed it up more it would enhance your talent
O that is just superb, what talent, the Tele sounds perfect, the action must be brilliant, you are so fast all the harmonies are so sweet, a very hard number to play,................
Now that is a cool guitar...I notice you pick with a flatpick and fingers on this tune, do you normally hybrid? Why not a Thumbpick? You got some good catchy chops, you don't hit a wrong 🎵. Did you like Danny Gatton? Chet Atkins? I bet so. Do you play a version of san Antonio rose chet-style ? This is really cool guitar playing...I'm a hard rocker by birth but this country-style I have always loved and Danny Gatton and Johnny hiland were good portals for this rare Americana style. Pick on 😎 🎸 ❤🎼🎶🎵
Thanks, I went to a hybrid style when I developed a tremor in my left hand which slowed my flatpickin'. I added my middle finger to my normal flat picking style to add back my speed. Actually did this in the 1990s. I listen to all the great country pickers as well the blues greats. Took a little bit from all their styles. I have San Antonio Rose on youtube. Just an improvise version showing my hybrid style. Glad you enjoyed my playing
@@leftyjaysmith oops I didn't mean san antonio rose, which I just heard...i meant Swedish rhapsody, another finger picked classic im trying to transpose to electric
@@stephenchaulker5521 Swedish Rhapsody is a tough one for me since I dont drone the bass notes. I always built a track that had the rhythm and bass there already. I actually grew up playing Venture's tunes. They basically took old tunes and turned them into 3 guitar and drum instrumentals. They had a few originals, but they had a ton of copy tunes that they instrumentalized. I take a lot of my style from Nokie Edwards. He had a rock n roll style, but threw in some chet/ merle travis style for flair. In fact, Merle only played with his thumb and index finger, but sounded like he was using more fingers. Tommy E. is another great guitarist that can play anything. I'm currently working on Average White Band - Pick up the Pieces using my guitar instead of using a sax. I'll be doing a video soon when my shoulder replacement heals. Had surgery in June on my fretting hand. A little slow recovering, but i did a few Ventures videos to test out the arm. I'll be back in playing shape by Sept
yes, Bucks Polka is another variation of the same song. There have been so many versions of this song, there really is no right or wrong way to play it. I don't try to duplicate anybody's version. I kind of make it my own. Thanks for the compliment. Jay
why on earth do i need a thumb pick? i'm already picking with a pick and 2 other fingers. a thumb pick would only be a hassle unless i played with it 100% of the time. i play more than this style of music. i dont see too many rockers with thumb picks. i would love to see your videos. i'm sure you have hundreds on here that i can watch. what??? you dont have any??? i thought so. LOL
Because I'm not trying to duplicate Buck Owens version. I'm playing my own version/style. If you want to hear somebody play it like Buck, listen to Buck. It's very simple. only need 2 strings to play it like Buck. zzzz
Fantastik playing! and what a tone you get through the whole song.....! Masterful! Thanks!!
Can’t have a sad face, while listening this.
Thanks!
O what class you were born to play that strad.......Brilliant

You need to throw that damn straight pick away and get you a thumb pick son.

Dig
Somehow I feel uncomfortable watching this being played left-handed
Wayne Speirs / put Yourself in front of a mirror, 😳
This is just a fake. He dont know what he is playing. Go to "Buck Owens Razmataz polka"
Funny , I looked up that one and like this one WAY better . Good try though .
