I was singin' this song out my cell in san quentin. ....had good conversations about different hardcore bands with a fellow inmate a few cells down who agrees with my musical tastes.
I WAS WALKING DOWN THE STREET WITH MY BIG MAC I REALLY LIKE WHEN HARDCORE BANDS MAKE ME FEEL WELCOME SINCE IM AN OBESE MAN AND I USUALLY FEEL OUT OF PLACE MOSHING WHILE I EAT BURGERS! RESPECT! START THE VIOLENCE!
I met my cousins friend tonight who said the guys in this band were old friends of his, but he lost touch with them years ago. I'm glad he told me about these guys, there pretty good. I'm not really into hardcore, but I could get into it.
I like to see a street fight especially when it's on a weeknight i dont care who's wrong or who's right i just wanna see a street fight walking down the street with my big mac out of nowhere someone gets whacked i dont care if youre white or black start the violence. fuck the facts. i dont care who's wrong or who's right i just wanna see a street fight
This band for me was the first with leeway , biohazard, kickback in establishing the modern hardcore named today as bands like hardstyle Expire, Backtrack , Turnstile Cruel Hand practiced today It is my opinion.
@KintaromOe This song absolutely has a thrasy metallic riff in it. You're right. Hardcore has changed a lot over the years. True hardcore was rooted in punk. A lot of today's hardcore has lost its punk roots and been replaced with this metal tough guy crap. If you want to hear authentic New York Hardcore, go listen to Agnostic Front's "Victim in Pain". That was real hardcore. Then go listen to Agnostic Front's "Warriors". You will hear the differance. And I love Breakdown's first demo!
Lifes blood tho Cro mags tho Sick of it all tho Agnostic front tho Icemen tho Rest in pieces tho Warzone tho The mob Murphys law Madball Lol the list goes on.. Too many top tier Nyhc bands to say just one is the best but Breakdown might be my fav so i get ya point.
God this thread is stupid. Breakdown are one of the all-time great NYHC bands. A couple guys in here got it right... Metal.. ha.. Acacia who gives a fuck... What's it about... someone getting their ass kicked... See the guy's comment below. Respect.
I’m 22 and just discovered this band

NYHC 100%
I just noticed the acacia strain have a riff that sounds just like this
+Farkmetal i'm pretty sure suburban scum does too
+Farkmetal Plenty of bands have ripped off Breakdown. Haha
Probably. It's a shame most of those little pussies can't tell you who breakdown is but can tell you expire is a good band
This fucking jams
Pretty much the hardest band ever. Breakdown is ass beating music.
Best NYHC band next to Outburst.

Icemen tho
Rest in pieces tho
Warzone tho
The mob
Murphys law

Too many top tier Nyhc bands to say just one is the best but Breakdown might be my fav so i get ya point.
@@josie10131 first few records are some high tier shit. The impact they first had as a band can't be understated
You got some love here man..
This purchased song was just deleted from my apple playlist without my consent.
@hassanumer999 hardcore and thrash are both awsome
CROSSOVERRRRRRRRRRRRR
@KintaromOe No. New York HARDCORE. Nothing to do with metal.
@hassanumer999 Thanks. Meanwhile I know it. I was clueless ^^

BTW their 87 demo was one of the GOAT, if there are riffs that sound like this it's because they copied Breakdown, not the other way around.
@MoshingMayo
Really?
! Much respect. Check facebook music page: LINYHC
Sounds like the acacia strain anyone hear it
Thrash metal had a strong influence on NYHC...
xyoungwx i think you mean nyhc had a strong influence on thrash metal
@KintaromOe :)
Apple deleted this from my library without notification or refund.
There're angry
Some parts sounds like Nu Metal before this exist.
Nu metal to me was a mixed bag of different genres blending together, groove, hip hop, funk, alternative, and hardcore
Doesn't matter if hardcore or Thrash still both comes from punk
Sounds like Thrash!?
acacia what??
.!! this is break down you gotta be kidding me there an original band man
Algun mexicano :v lml
What the fuck is this song all about.
Puchinbola streetfight
walking around with a big mac hoping to see a streetfight
