The one deck that currently uses balance that didnt get mentioned is Magical Muskets. They can easily play without activated monster effects on their first turn, since their on field effects to activate spells and traps from the hand is a continuous effect.
Rest in peace balance noble knights, will not be missed. I know War Rocks briefly became good because people used them with balance and a bunch of traps lol. Edit: I just watched the whole video and you covered war rocks lmao
its crazy to me how balance is still playable. i think the balance version of war rocks is technically still the "better" version. Just because of how good our traps are in this game.
my policy when facing balance NKs as a fire king player was the following: did they brick? no? scoop and go to the next one cuz your not winning that duel king.
"Handless Gaia" is another early-Balance deck worth mentioning, and one I thought used the skill in a very creative way. The basic idea was to play just 5 monsters, like "Swift Gaia the Fierce Knight" and "Flash Assailant", and the rest of the deck would be spells/traps. This guaranteed you could summon a 2000+ ATK monster and set 3 backrow on your first turn, a very powerful play at the time.
1:24 LMAO, man those were weird times when I played kiteroid alot in the older Superheavy Samurai deck and 2-3 Gigagloves and doing Stealth Ninja win for game. Love my monster mash deck ❤
You're right! I will *never* stop playing Noble Knights! You can take my cool armor and swords from my COLD DEAD HANDS. But, um...why are they currently using Light Barrier?
Technically its not only light barrier. You see everything from fields of the warrior to LP boost Alpha, to even the legend of the heroes. If you're wondering why Light Barrier, its because the skill gives you an extra spell as ammo for Ar4gius's effect, doesn't take up a S/T zone (its a field spell) and doesnt appear before your turn (cant be popped on your opponent's turn)
@@cuchutrain Ohhh, okay. I was wondering why specifically Light Barrier, I didn't immediately see the synergy. Now it makes more sense. And yeah, it does make sense that any of the "generic" skills can work for them, Light Barrier just stood out to me because I fully had no idea what people were doing with it. Thank you so much!
I miss balance was such a great og tool for deckbuilding. Btw another eariler balance deck than you mentioned was handless balance from 2017 WCQ. Dkayed used it to top the wcq and qualify for worlds where you play flash assilant and swift gaia + backrow to garuntee you have a big beater in the opener and interuption
There was a weird deck I saw from that time that also used Balance. You'd use 3 Fusion Gate and 2 Poly as your 5 spells and with 15 monsters, you'd guaranteed be able to fusion summon at least one monster. The strongest Fusion at the time was Dark Paladin so cards like Buster Blader, Dark Magician and fusion subs would be included, but you can also run things like Thunder Dragon for its 1 card Fusion.
slightly underrated but aromage was pretty good with balance pre-nerf 2. Being guranteed to get garden or gardening is good, almost no chance for brick with only majoram, and either dried or blessed winds work perfectly fine in any hand. Any basic setup will allow the Aromas to get some decent counter if they go second, and decent setup if they go first, without needing book of moon to prevent big plays from 2nd turn
Wasn't Dkayed who broke the game during the first KC Cup by playing his secret Gaia deck with Balance ? If I remember correctly, he kept it secret until the end of the KC Cup while maintaining 1st place in the NA region. Again, if I remember correctly, this KC Cup gave him the ticket to play the first Duel Links Championship in Japan and he started streaming daily after this.
I actually miss Balance and all the generic consistency skills, but I understand why they had to nerf them, I still miss "See you latter!" Tho... Damn you thunder dragons
I remember ice barriers with balance getting balance hit which i believe were before Noble Knights. deck played the ice barrier triangle card and a bunch of ice barriers and post-patch Balance required you to have sufficient monsters, spells and traps. I could be misremembering though
Wasn’t there a version of Balance that allowed you to summon Amano Iwato and it just blanket stopped it from returning to hand and then you had a nice floodgate on your opponent’s turn?
There's a couple skills that allowed that. I actually have a video somewhere in my channel about it, but when they try to nerf skills like duel standby, by turning off monster effects, it also turns off amano iwatos return to hand effects as well.
Ah good ole balance... My first deck was Geargia control, that deck used balance and it was really fun! As for video ideas... You could a DL Degen (or just a reg vid) on Alistair the Invoker and the legion of archetypes that became an engine for Invoked once Purg dropped? It's still so funny for me to remember that because of Alistair Roids were meta... Bloody ROIDS of all decks; you could probably have had an entire tier list that could be summed up as "Alistair, it's all just Alistair... And I guess Ritual Beasts are also a thing sometimes".
Once Sphinx was added to the game, I think Balance saw less play in Triamids because opening the 1 Sphinx and no other monsters would mean brick! P. S. I'd like to see the Red Eyes Fusion OTK deck in the next video!
earliest balance decklist ive seen online is 3 thunder dragon 3 king or the swamp 3 two headed king rex 3 crawling dragon #2 3 fusion gate 3 polymerization extra is twin headed and brachio 2 fusion sage
I played Dual links for years the game its unbalance at this point does not make sense i main Seto Kaiba its crazy that im on first turn that person is still there summoning cards and im still there waiting my turn they should just stick with Yu-Gi-Oh gx 5ds xys.. Arcv and Vrains just ruined the entire game.
I'm sorry but WHAT ARE YOU EVEN TALKING ABOUT. Balance was broken for sure but then they "fixed" it and now you can't special summon your first turn. Same thing for heavy starter.. like the skills aren't even that good for it to have that sort of nerf. Meanwhile, Destiny Draw remains untouched. NOW THATS WHAT I CALL A BROKEN SKILL
economy aside, the other thing i hate about duel links compared to the tcg is that decks are too consistent, duels feel all the same, mostly cause of the 20 card deck size, but skills too
Not sure if i have/if i usually comment on your videos but i've been around since your how to duel links video and you honestly deserve so much more subs for your content, one of the few remaining Duel links creators that are great to listen to and just relax
I want you to know that the using Balance to smelt bronze was one of the best bits I've seen from you. That's all, no other notes.
im happy to know that after 9 months of making videos, i finally get to peak at a metallurgy joke
I love how balance was continuously hit to the point it was called "Don't play...SERIOUSLY!"

I wish they get their own skill tho.

This is “imo” the most broken early generics Skill in the game next to Restart & Beatdown

Good example, I missed a lot during 2017 so I'm glad a lot of you remember the decks during that time

redditors will pretend this skill wasn't broken to heck
6:13 clearly he's practiced in Zoro's 3 sword style

8:27 You underestimated HUMANS... Tragic
XD
6:11 I was thinking about that since you started talking about how the archetype works!
That was EXCELLENT! STUPENDO!! MAGNIFICA--- !!! *wait*
Over 8k in under a month. You've found your new algorithm baby. Congratz!
Magical Musket best balance deck. Change my mind :)
Also great content as usual.
oh god I forgot about magical muskets
Balance Magical Musket fan vs Ties of the Brethren Life Point Boost Alpha Magical Musket enjoyer.
@@ghastlygibus2121 It seems like a fun build.
@AniCheese03 because it is.
It feels superior to have Doc, Brave Kid, and Caspar on the field rather than one Caspar on the field.
if you have three swords you hold the third one with your mouth, obviously
The Monty python clip earned you a like and comment. :)

love the monty python for noble knights xD
1:45 "...yeah..."
*NO*
NOT. AT. ALL!
XD
I actually miss Balance and all the generic consistency skills, but I understand why they had to nerf them, I still miss "See you latter!" Tho... Damn you thunder dragons
They make and byff characters skill which is bs
It had to be done, but I do miss balance, that's how Geargia became a deck you know
Ahh.. Jacob giving speeches. I miss those days 😂
I could have sworn the Mia in phase change from end phase happened because it broke the balance of spirit monsters not having to go back to the hand.
I remember ice barriers with balance getting balance hit which i believe were before Noble Knights. deck played the ice barrier triangle card and a bunch of ice barriers and post-patch Balance required you to have sufficient monsters, spells and traps. I could be misremembering though

Sky stikers are scary now

og cyber angel doesn't have absolute ritual btw
A smol guy! I must suscribe
karakuri also used balance but the most optimal ended being restart
earliest balance decklist ive seen online is
3 thunder dragon
3 king or the swamp
3 two headed king rex
3 crawling dragon #2
3 fusion gate
3 polymerization
extra is twin headed and brachio
2 fusion sage
(noble knight player sips wine) i never needed it and i also use all the knights (XYZ go BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR)
9:24 Baby, balance got the good nerf !
I miss playing balance aromage and balance dark magician
Surprised you didn't mention magical musketeers. That deck was made for Balance
Yo this is a really cool vid
I love Noble Knights. I loooooooooveeee Noble Knights.
lol this video was certainly for you then
The jokes lmao 😂
Beningging. Yes.
How does light berrier halp noble knights?
who named Drystan? Initially the Welsh or old Welsh equivalent... But in more modern English, his hair gives him super strength
7:51 like Farfa and B.A
God I miss Balance Gladbeast
Its also just funny how crazy skills have gotten when they're tailor made for decks vs something generic like this now
How ro build a deck
Man why they gotta nerf the skill so hard tho
Balance isn't pretty balance ironically
I played Dual links for years the game its unbalance at this point does not make sense i main Seto Kaiba its crazy that im on first turn that person is still there summoning cards and im still there waiting my turn they should just stick with Yu-Gi-Oh gx 5ds xys..

Hey guys I've something to say : free Palestine 🇵🇸 😊
FIRST!!!!!
economy aside, the other thing i hate about duel links compared to the tcg is that decks are too consistent, duels feel all the same, mostly cause of the 20 card deck size, but skills too
we got 20 card decks AND consistency anime skills. Usually turn 1 and 2 is almost always identical, but after that you got some variation.
Aromage best deck with balance, great fun to climb (also how did aromages not get mentioned?)
And it’s quite sad that it’s « broken » , I believe it’s much better game design than the syncron bullishit/ D hero bullshit/speedroid bullshit
Ay I am there (Being a gravekeeper coper paid off)

Bring back balance
Ahh the nostalgia, one of the decks to win the first worlds used it iirc
Good old days, Noble knight was the deck that gets me into yugioh
