ER still a fortress, 3 points, clean sheet, GD still looking good. We need to keep our foot on the gas with a win against SW on Friday. MOT
Absolutely Karen, looking forward to it!
international break can't come quick enough lets hope we sign off with a win on Friday
3 points, and another cleansheet is a good day at the office, however, it is to be seen if we can get through fatigue, and keep earning points in the second half of the season #FingersCrossed 💛💙
Good analysis, thanks
We have been the same all season, always need lots of shots to each goal! One on one with the goalie we are terrible 😂We have a shot conversion rate of 11.2 shots per goal. Leicester 9.5, Ipswich 9.6, Southampton 9.8. Tonight we had 15 shots and got a single goal. And forget about getting goals from corners as we are terrible at them. But a win is a win. Just need to get our energy back.
That's honestly why we are not in 2nd place. There's no other reason. Ipswich are not a better team. We've shown them that. But our finishing (for our level) is poor. If we could be as clinical as Ipswich, we would be where they are. We're trying to walk it into the goal, passing instead of shooting, and just not finishing cleanly. Dan James has been mind bogglingly clinical this season (except that maybe he should have scored the "face save" goal). Kamara simply won't shoot. Bamford should be replaced by Joseph. Piroe just isn't doing his business as he did with Norwich and he's mostly absent like Bamford. Summerville has gone off the boil for a while now. Rutter is exceptionally good until it comes to taking his chances. Perhaps Farke should start Joseph on Friday? Why start Bamford? Joseph looked ten times more involved & potent than Bamford for the minutes he played. And then there's Archie Gray. Where was he? Are we making it hard on ourselves, or are these teams we're duking it out with as good as the score lines suggest? But why on earth do we not take our chances? I just can't find the answer.
@@steelyman08Yeah, most of our goals come from inside the box with the ball at our feet. There are rarely crosses into the box high enough for a headed goal. It's almost always to feet.
business end of the season, keep grinding out those results now, 1 game at a time, 3 points at a time. Cheers Max. MOT.
Agree 100% on Byram, need to keep one of him or Firpo fit for each game.
Harder than it should have been but we got through it. And the keeper has had to pull off some great saves. I've always preferred Dan James in the side and he proved his worth. I thought Kamara looked a bit better and it was Gruev who was a bit off it tonight. I'm surprised Gray didn't come on sooner, I was expecting him to start in midfield. Although they still had chances, the subs gave us more energy. The confidence Joseph has from the two goals against Chelsea means he's like a new player for us.
Genuinely, the first half or most of it - we should have easily been 4 up. Had we taken lots of these clear cut chances it would have been cigar time in the 2nd half. Even in second half we should have 2 more 5-1 would have been a result they couldn't complain about. The first half after the first 15 wasn't a grind, we ripped them apart.
Now people will be shaking at the knees over Sheffield Wednesday because they've been winning. This is Leeds United! We should be very confident on Friday. Are we? It would be a complete upset if they won.
Personally, if Leeds do get promotion this season they seriously need to get quality strikers and a creative midfielder. The one's Leeds have are simply not good enough, but that's just my personal opinion.
It was a good night at ER. The fans were more vocal than a lot of night games I've attended.
We in the Cheese Wedge weren't worried because Stoke didn't really look like scoring.
We were confident we would win.
Always different isn't it, when you're actually there!
Great win but how many times can Ipswich go to the well of dragging games from the jaws of defeat? I feel the teams that concedes the least goals but still finds goals as in Leicester and Leeds should end up in the top two places? Big game again on Friday, same again, ugly or convincing, 3 points are 3 points.
I recall telling you in the stream, Rutter and Summerville are off it, there's a clear lack of cohesion at the moment, midfield needs a change imo.I think it's all happening at the right time, mind? Another tough one, Saturday, we simply need maximum points if we can.
Saturday?
Friday, I meant,lol.
Joseph needs to start Friday, Bamford on bench.
nah, in Farke we trust. MOT.
