Ahhh!!! Turn machine OFF to move arm. I was trying to move it to see if I had my cutting board at the right height and it was really hard to move and making a yucky noise. I just engraved my 1st cutting board this weekend. I'm addicted! I will be offering them for my realtor clients.
Getting calipers can help a lot. The top of your material needs to be 1.5-2 inches from the bottom of the machine. When we have thinner stuff, the crumb tray helps us get there. Take calipers and find out how thick your board is. Once you have that, find something you want to use to prop it up. A LOT of people use legos since they're a consistent height! I like my two small boards, but everyone has their own way.
Love the videos! Just a question how thick are the small cutting boards I am just trying to understand how much of a height from the laser head to the board we have to have in between sorry I am new to all of this.
Do you seal these boards after engraving them? Can you still wash it with soap and water once its been engraved? Thank you so much for these videos! I can't wait to finally make one with my glowforge
I noticed you started favoring power 100 instead of full power on the coated Charcuterie boards... what is the biggest difference or benefit you have noticed with that small change?
Lisa, you by far have the best glowforge videos! ❤️
Aww, thanks! I think a lot of us have different styles that work for different people. Glad you like mine!
Happy Easter Lisa! Missing your videos!
Same to you! I'm back! 💕
I really love this - I just got invited to a bridal shower so I'm going to go look for this board!! ♥
Wonderful! The last time I was there, they had it in stock!

Yes! You can really damage your machine if you try to move it while it's on!
@@LisaPottsDesigns yikes, I didn't move it much because it didn't feel right. Hope I didn't damage it. It worked today, so🤞
Great quality videos! What kind of camera do you use?
I use a Sony Alpha 😊 Here's a similar one: amzn.to/2Qlvjtp
Keep up the good work, awesome videos #Hygienelife

Thanks for the video! I do have some to try out. How do you determine how how to raise the board?

These boards are around a half inch to .75!
Hi Lisa, I absolutely LOVE your channel!!!! I was wondering if you seal it or put anything on it after you engrave it?
Thank you! I finish it with some cutting board oil and advise not to eat off the engraved area. Most times this is mainly display.

I treat them with cutting board (or mineral) oil. I make sure to have customers hand wash only and dry immediately.
Thank you so much for sharing this with us. I love it!! How much would you sell the board for?
I try to price most things about 3x my cost for it. This board is also very large, so I would sell it for $60 - $75

It just doesn't engrave as deep. Full power was putting really deep lines in my boards, and I prefer to have them darker, but not so deep.
What is the size of the board
20 inches by 10 inches 💕
