I had the privilege of learning from the master himself. I can answer few questions about his technique that you asked. 1. He does not use any masking fluid or tape ever. Most whites are actually unpainted areas. He sometimes uses the white right of the tube for some highlights 2. The bright greens that you must have seen in his paintings which you felt are Marker , are actually pure watercolors. 3. He does not use watercolor pencils either. It is all brush work. Milind Sir is a genius of watercolor. I have seen him paint it is very rapid. He is master of composition. And most importantly he is able to effectively coach and teach what he knows.
Thanks a bunch Liron, for this video. Mr. Milind Mulick is the one who introduced me to the wonders of the watercolors. I bought his book from a book fair and started copying his work to learn watercolors. I owe him a lot. He such a great artist and respected in India. Thanks again for reviewing his art work.
Yes, a true genius! I think it’s a worthwhile exercise to try and make a study of his, especially of this effect. It may help you break through this (:
Last but one is typical village scene in konkan area of Maharashtra, India. The way in which Mulik depict is mind blowing. It is very difficult to try his paintings. You can simplify his work. I have seen his demo but when it comes to even drawing it is difficult. Thanks a lot for showing your respect twords him.
This was just a wonderful review. It is my first exposure to Mulick and your description took me right into his work and his individuality. You explained it so well and with SO much enthusiasm. Thank you so much.
Milind Mullick is my favourite artist. He’s a master watercolourist. Thank you for more insight into his works. Enjoyed it. I have bought all his books just for his paintings.
Thank you for sharing and helping us to pay attention and appreciate such beautiful artwork!, I really enjoyed the paintings. Yes, the compositions are amazing, how the empty spaces, or the places where all detail disappear in a mixture of colors/textures, are part of the painting . And he creates magic with the colors. The stones in the water, the street scene under the rain, the forest, the women sitting by the road... beautiful, thanks!
Hi , liron. Yes Milind Pratap Mulick is one of the best indian watercolor artist. the maximum paintings which you criticize are paintings from konkan reagean ..having beautiful nature around..
Thanks for this one -- organize an interview with him - very humble genius with a lot of wisdom to share, lucky me had an opportunity to meet him multiple times in Pune at various exhibitions pre-covid
Regarding the question of possible masking fluid use in the one image, I’ve seen in his book “Watercolour Demonstrations” where he used wax crayon to represent texture and that’s what the zig-zag area appears to be.
I always love your painting masters videos! I love the light in these paintings, and the unexpected bits of color. I would love to see you take a look at Jean Haines and Hazel Soan - if you haven't already! Thanks!!😀
Nice video collection. To get something different and incredibly outstanding you should try to review the work of the Californian painter Russell Black. I would like to see. Cheers.
Inspiring really, Liron. Have you ever seen Chien Chung Wei's work? I really love his style, very expressive without being at all heavy handed. Impressionistic with just that touch of focus necessary.
Love that you reviewed him. Wish that his paint style had a name. But when you see similar paintings you think Milind Mulick. I love an artist named Sopon Thangtong ( last name I may have wrong ). But his paintings remind me of this style. Would you agree? Beautiful lights darks, composition strong color. Please let me know what you think. I love this series of reviews.
I just want to thank you for your off hand mention of Alan Owen. He is a very dear man and I have enjoyed some of his videos....And when it is pouring down rain on his studio I even love that...having grown up in a rainy climate! Just lots of good tips to be had from his work. I am not sure how much longer he will be doing this...... )
I love his work! (: I don't think I ever caught the rain, but I will notice in future vids I watch - I love that kind of a thing too. Hopefully he can continue doing this for many more years 🙏🏼🙏🏼
7:29 : i don't know if it is in Italy , but there is an italian restaurant in the back :) He is an amazing artist , thank you so very much for letting me discover him! As always: great work Liron and greetings from Italy ;)
Milind Mulick and Agnes Cecile were my first watercolor inspirations. I love Stephen Cronin too but really Mr. Mulick was the most pronounced inspiration.
I really like polish artist Michal Jasiewicz. And emerging artist Rafal Rudko. And also binging watching watercolor/illustration/manga Mateusz Urbanowicz.
Milind Mulick is a genius…I started Watercolor painting after watching his videos..Livonia is a great artist too..And if I am right I think Milind Mulick is an architect too,…..
My watercolour paintings always blend together and I don't get any sharp edges. It's probably partly due to technique and warping paper. Any advice would be great keep up the work senpai.
I would love for you to review the beautiful watercolor works of Dong Kingman. He’s a classic, no longer living, but that surely does not matter. He was born in the USA, but lived in Hong Kong.
Hey Liron! New subscriber here. Fantastic channel. I am trying to find time to watch all your videos. Can you do a video on prafull sawant for your paintings masters series?
Uh oh. You combined two painter's work and made them all Milind's. One set of paintings are by Gulshan Achari. Look him up on Facebook. He pointed out this mishap on his FB page too.

4:50 that is an autorickshaw, a common mode of transport in Indian cities. It is three-wheeled.
Yes! I love how it looks 😁 Thank you for letting us know! 😊🙏🏼
Brilliant how he gets the sense of strong sunlight and dense shade. I have a big problem getting this effect so really appreciate the genius of it.
Yes, a true genius! I think it’s a worthwhile exercise to try and make a study of his, especially of this effect. It may help you break through this (:
The more you want yr lights to shine, the more you paint dark glazes around them.
I love this series, thank you so much. It broadens my artistic horizons every time.
He is my favorite and I loved watercolors by watching him....
His father Pratap Mullick too was a great artist.

This was just a wonderful review. It is my first exposure to Mulick and your description took me right into his work and his individuality. You explained it so well and with SO much enthusiasm. Thank you so much.

I am a huge fan of Milind Mulick. And a big fan of your channel. It was awesome to see this episode.
Wonderful insights into Malid’s amazing skill Thanks for your thoughts too !
Was white gouache available? Maybe that’s how he created the opacity you mention in those blues, Liron? On a side note, does that make it mixed media?
6:20 he uses white ink pen for the purpose😊
MR. MILLIND MULLICK IS ALSO MY FAVOURITE WATERCOLOURIST,HOWEVER HE HAS DONE MANY MARVELLOUS WORKS IN GOUACHE AND ACRYLICS TOO!
