Rangers hubris was their undoing when the died in 2012 they should have bought a hungry core of youngsters and built up a structure but no they spent money on joyrneymen on big wages
I thought the same would have picked up young players when coming back up through the leagues but na look at them now
Exactly, they blew it by still thinking they were in Premier division and spending like one to play against part timers, that's when they should have went for young players, they'd easily get to championship, start hoarding the cash, improve their scouting and then they got something to build on,
Maybe, but if they had done that, they would probably just be catching up to Celtic about now and their support, in their desperation and for obvious reasons, wouldn’t have had the patience for this long.
Celtic for example would almost definitely have gotten the 10 & maybe even now be sitting on 13, the entitled clan wouldn’t have got their “55” for one thing and that in itself would have been totally unacceptable.
The support, or at least the more rabid entitled amongst them, must take some of the responsibility for their present dilemma.
In their hunger for immediate success, especially their desire to beat Celtic, over the last eight years, they have pressurised and abused their board and managers, time and time again into making rash decisions.
For instance, the board sacking manager after manager to appease the fans and at the same time trying to buy players, as you say, through big money and having to pay big wages to them has left them in the position they are in now.
The debacle with their away ticket allocation, is the perfect example of how they can easily pressurise the board and for the board to foolishly cave into them, convincing the mob that, if like little 3yr old kids, they scream loud enough they would get their way. Their board of course endlessly relenting.
Were Celtic have been finding young talent at a couple of million, bringing so many of them on and punting them for a nice little earner to fill the Parkhead coffers.
The Rangers board, on the other hand have tried the shortcuts and they haven’t worked.
The question for the Rangers fans is, on hindsight, was achieving their “55” and of course also only managing to win 3 trophies in eight years, worth being in the position they are in at this time.🤔
Especially now that it looks like Celtic could be on their way to busting all their achievements this season anyhow!
