Visiting defqon this year actually made a hardcore fan again :D F*cking amazing this set! Lost my interest in hardcore in the late 90´s because i thougt there was to little evolvement but i have to admit something great has happened to the genre since then :D

Wasn't a bad set, but if you're booked to play a millennium hardcore set (general consensus to be hardcore between 2000-2007), do what you're booked for! This was one of the biggest disappointments from the weekend. The set itself wasn't bad, but don't advertise it to be a millennium hardcore set and play something almost entirely outside that period (or later remixes from tracks within that period). Makes you wonder if they still really take their job seriously or just f*ck around without giving a damn...
Funs Holthuijsen Blijkbaar vonden de meeste het lekker. Daarnaast moet je rekening houden met alle leeftijden. Ook denk ik niet dat zij expliciet gevraagd zijn om alleen MC plaatjes te draaien.
VeniVidiAjax Nou ja, als je als volgt in de timetable staat; 21:00 - 22:00 Nosferatu & Endymion *Millennium set*, dan denk ik dat ze wel een kleiiin beetje meer naar die sound hadden kunnen(/moeten?) gaan. Sowieso denk ik dat wanneer Endymion tegenwoordig nog een hardcore-set draait dit meer richting de oudere sound is, aangezien ze met de huidige sound niet meer "up to date" zijn na hun switch. Een hardcore-set zullen ze normaal ook niet meer aannemen, tenzij dit onder speciale omstandigheden/voorwaarden gebeurt. En denk dat in die voorwaarden zoiets aangegeven staat. Op 20 jaar Raving Nightmare stonden ze samen met Ophidian, van tevoren best twijfels over (niet over Ophi, blijft natuurlijk de koning der koningen die man), maar wat een geniale set was dat. Toegegeven, ook toen had Ophidian het beste deel van de platen en hoorde je meteen welke Endymion er in gooide, maar ook dat deel was voor een groot deel best goed op zijn plaats. Nu lijkt Nosferatu een beetje weinig aan bod te komen, en mee gesleurd te worden qua stijl. Tuurlijk gaat het publiek los, wat moet je anders op zo'n moment ;)? Begin van het weekend, dus nog vol energie; er zijn op dat moment maar 2 area's, liever wél ergens losgaan ook al is het niet helemaal zoals je hoopt als nergens heen gaan; die buitenlanders kwijlen sowieso ontzettend op de naam Endymion, maken zoiets vaak pas voor de eerste of tweede keer mee en genieten van alles wat er voorgeschoteld wordt. Ook stond op dat moment het geluid in de Blue waar-de-loos, zorgt dat er nog meer mensen in de Black eindigen. Plus hoe wil je zo'n DJs bereiken op zo'n moment, oké de meeste DJs zijn telefoongeil maar niet zo erg dat ze onder hun set het hele uur lang hun twitter checken of zo (plus ikzelf zou ook niet zo gek zijn zoiets te tweetten, zijn er toch om te feesten he ;) ). Heb zelf wel genoten hoor, was alleen zonde op dat moment, je hoopt (met een hoop anderen, veel mensen over gehoord) op wat anders als wat er gedraait wordt, das op dat moment gewoon jammer. Maar dat betekent echt niet meteen feest verpest, gewoon biertje erbij en gaan :) (woeps, beetje lang geworden dit antwoord, sorry :D)

DjSickClown Bitch please you're the idiot, I knew hardcore before I even started listening to jump / HS & co so don't talk about what you don't know. Endymion ALWAYS made Hardcore NOT ONE FUCKING RAW TRACK excepted their last releases / same tracks on their album. It's not because it aint +180BPM with a fucking overused kick that it aint hardcore sucker.
That sitdown was a bit of a fail, someone (Bart or Ruffian) should have told everyone to stay the fuck down until the real drop, and maybe even EQ the bass out at the first few kicks. But hey, i guess it was a nice try.
The MC sounds too clear because he's recorded through the mixer like the rest of the audio... live it sounds much less clear and fits in better with the mix in the room. But anyway, these videos are meant to promote the festival more than anything so it's an important element for them to include. There are plenty of good mixes out there on TH-cam to find if that's specifically what you want.
Have you noticed how girls were filmed back before 2017 ? Always zooming on their breasts ... this is weird to watch. Amazing set tho and huge respect for Nosferatu & Endymion

But anyway, these videos are meant to promote the festival more than anything so it's an important element for them to include.
