Agreed, these are raw and very old. Soumd quality is better than it should be and is still bad LOL. The framework of the song is there and even the tempo is the same. Its a little rough and different. I like it but the self titled album version is better. Probably because that album was recorded very loud and clean👍
Today marks 37th anniversary of release legendary single 'I Wanna Be Somebody' and in honor of this, i would like to share rare demo this song recorded presumably in 1982. This version is different from the one, that was presented on CD single 'Sunset & Babylon' 1993. For those, who have not heard this before, it will be little surprise!
I'm 100% sure Blackie has old tapes, recordings, somewhere in his house and still refuses to release this epic stuff. Why Blackie? Why you do this to your fans xD
I saw them live in 84 This was without Richards. They played the song similarly. They were still quite young and fresh. Success was pretty new to the band. They opened for Quiet Riot. I walked out in Riot because I didn’t care for them without Rhoads. No offense to Carlos Cavazo who was always in tune and very professional. I did not like the way the tried to use a stand in Rhoads look a like. I went behind the Sunrise Musical Amphitheater and Chris Holmes and Randy Piper came out. I lit a skunk bud joint and Holmes hit it a few times. Piper declined and was quiet and shy. Holmes was one of the coolest guys i met in the metal scene. Fun to be around and very honest. I asked why Blackie wouldn’t come out and he said Blackie was boring and all about business. Blackie was just an act, a show. It changed my opinion of Lawless moving forward. He also said if Blackie saw him smoking the joint he would bitch and give him shit. This was just after he had to fire Tony Richards for heroin use so I guess I kind of understand now. However Chris did not divulge this and avoided the question of why Richards had departed. Fun times and the last truly raw tour the band ever had. I watched the end of an era right before my eyes. Everything changes and so I Too have changed…
Demos are not for everyone but I love these cuz it shows the changes they made before the finishing product.
Golden words!!!

I live the prominence of those thundering drums on these demos.
The energy level on this version is at 10.
I miss this W.A.S.P., not much left of it.
Excellent demo , live at the lyceum is without a doubt the best version of this anthem .🤘✌️
❤ this sounds vicious! Young Blackie ! Still unforgettable as a mature gentleman ❤🖤❤
Man these demos sound so much heavier than what came out on the album
Blackie was very dissatisfied with 'polished' sound original album.. Demos was RAW!
Tony was as well.
this is played from A, which is higher pitch than the original.. amazing high singing.. to me, this is the most beautiful voice in the world
sped up recording
I love the raw energy of this demo! thanks for sharing brother!
