- Mike Ritland and the guys talk about their Navy SEAL initiation hazing. Mike starts off the discussion about his experience and how his team had to row their boat out to San Clemente island. Everyone on the island was upset at Mike because he missed his initial hazing while he was at an intel school.
Mike was on the island for two weeks on edge waiting for his initial hazing and it never happening. He eventually did receive his gift. Brandon Webb and Shane then go into their initial hazing experiences.

It's almost sad watching a bunch of grown men justify abuse to themselves and others. Abusive hazing adds ZERO value to any team or organisation. It's just a bunch of childishness and insecurity translated into perpetuated physical, mental, and often sexual abuse. One can only hope that at some point there will be enough responsible adults in the room to end this ignorance for good.
You have never been in a group of real men then. Hazing makes people proud not feel abused. Thats why everyone gets a turn. If you cant handle it dont join a team
@@coolgamerfella I’ve been on plenty of teams, and have seen more than enough to make an informed judgement. Perhaps you haven’t. “Real men” don’t need to act like unsupervised toddlers. Hazing cultures always end up going too far - physical, mental, and very often sexual abuse - and I’m sure all those guys could tell you of such stories (off camera).
@@searock3024 i bet you were the guy who got extra hazed every time. The guy who whines about hazing and trys to stop it always becomes a target. Happens in every group. Be a man and take the hazing. Then give it when its your turn. Its a rite of passage. This aint making it onto the highschool football B-team hazing. This is the toughest of the toughest men. Try telling them hazing causes ptsd or whatever and they will laugh at you. Life is abusive and mean and makes people feel insecure. Deal with it
@@coolgamerfella Nope. I never got hazed. No one seemed to feel comfortable with the consequences. I’ve seen plenty, though, and never took part in it. If you knew what you were talking about, you would know that this stupidness ALWAYS leads to a significant minority of people getting physically and often sexually abused. None of that has anything to do with being a “real man” to me.
