    In the 2nd part of my Java EE Tutorial I'll cover Form Validation, Cover the JSTL Tags, Work with Databases and Provide Many Examples.
    JSTL allows you to create variables, evaluate expressions, institute flow control, manipulate strings, format output, manage URLS, define locales and much more.
    This nearly 40 minute tutorial only contains one 5 second skippable ad. I'd greatly appreciate it if you didn't Ad Block it, so that I can continue making free tutorials for all.

Certainly very frustrating given how old the technology is, but I'm glad to here you'll be transitioning to stuff like React and Spring which will definitely be more useful moving forward.
      P.S. You're awesome. Keep up the great work 👍

    I just want to remind you again Derek that you are wasting your talent by covering mainstream languages. There are already tons of youtube tutorials that cover Java, C#, PHP, etc, your content is not that different from all the others. The reason you have nearly 1M subs is that you cover cutting edge topics that no one else covers. What this means for you directly is that you are not going to get as much money because you get paid by views and not subs. So youre spending a lot of time making content hardly anyone will watch for hardly any money, I dont get it. If you paid more attention to people's requests you would make big money again and your channel would have double the subs.

    • @derekbanas

      I’m open for input always. What type of videos do you think I should make?

    • @monkeyrater
      @monkeyrater 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@derekbanas I read through the comments of a lot of your videos and you get tons of great suggestions. Im starting class now so I cant do a search to give you examples. But I guarantee NO ONE requests Java. I dont know if youre aware, but Oracle is playing the patent troll with Java and they are going to start charging for the commercial use of Java, so Java is not even free anymore. C# is actually a better no-cost option than Java. Java and C# are todays VB, they are on the way out. You would get more views with a Kotlin EE series.

    • @derekbanas
      @derekbanas  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm always open to cover anything. I got many requests to cover Maven, persistence, Hibernate, etc which is why I have this tutorial a go.
      The only requests I get all of the time are for machine learning tutorials. The problem is that those videos would require many months of tutorials. After nobody watched my video game, Blender or electronics tutorials I really lost hope that anyone wanted to watch advanced tutorials. Honestly I have no idea what people want me to make anymore.

    • @monkeyrater
      @monkeyrater 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@derekbanas I guess its time for you to make another request video, because you have fullfilled most of the requests that were on your previous request list.

    • @derekbanas

      Who knows? I'm considering just going back to my old style were I just make fun random videos. I've been learning Ukulele, Drums and Japanese lately and I might just start making a ton of those videos along with videos on React, Vue, Polymer, Ember and JQuery UI mixed in.
      The education space on TH-cam kind of died in 2017 and advertisers aren't willing to support education channels now. I didn't start doing this 10 years ago to make money, but I can now no longer afford to spend a ton of money on books, software, etc. for videos that get a few thousand views. I'll never make back the $200 I spent on the MatLab tutorial. I have no idea how much money I spent on electronics tutorials that went no place. What I'm trying to say is that I'm trying, but nothing is sticking sadly.
