God's voice sounds like spontaneous thoughts that light upon your mind while your eyes are fixed on Jesus.

If this is a powerful God, so powerful that it created the universe and life, then these are limitations on God's ability. Limitations on God's ability are fine to me, but these are unreasonable limitations. Also, note that people don't have these limitations when communicating with other people, so can people do something God can't? The only issue will be location, but God can be everywhere.
If God is limited in these ways to communicate with it's (supposed) creation (e.g. humans), then it cannot be from God.
@@vshah1010 With respect and love, God shouts to us in the Creation. He shouted to the Egyptians in the plagues. He shouted to the Israelites in parting the Red Sea and a thousand other signs and miracles. He shouted to the World in the resurrection. He has often shouted to me and many of my brothers and sisters around the world in His wonderful, repeated, interventions in our lives.
He teaches us to sit and listen like the disciples at the feet of Jesus. What earthly father raises his children to only hear him when he shouts? God teaches us to sit still and listen, as Mark points out. Just try it. What are you afraid will happen?
I heard his voice audibly once years ago. My church had asked me to join their membership, but I didn't want to get that involved. I brought it up in prayer, but my heart felt like not committing to that level. A week later immediately upon rising out of bed, He said audibly "Will you join the membership?" It was a man's voice that I heard from within my head and it even had a direction it was coming from. I had to turn my head slightly to the left because that was the direction it was coming from.
That’s how it leads
DISCERNING the voice of God is what's actually in question. ALL Spirit filled Christians can hear His voice...BUT...many can't DISCERN when HE is speaking.
How to discern if this is His voice or my thoughts?

@@dianaluize he will speak through the Holy spirit, and if it's him speaking you won't question it, cos even jesus says my sheep know my voice but a stranger they flee from him, so he will always speak through the spirit into your heart but holiness and walking right with him helps. :)

Oh my God, it did happen to me. Not an actual voice but a sign. I asked God if I can baptize my own child if I lead him to Christ. I was reading instructions on baptism and visualizing it. I was writing down instructions. When it came about placing my left hand over my son’s heart, I felt a strong electrical tingle, a very unique sensation like nothing else. I thought that was a yes and now I am sure that it’s a yes. Just waiting on my son becoming ready now.
I don't read of these electrical impulses in the NT. Folks, be careful. This is all "nice and fuzzy," but it is satanic. Stick to what we see in the Bible. Many will arise and MANY will be deceived!! Mathew 24 - read the WARNINGS from Jesus Himself.
I know the LORD listens when i talk to HIM because HE answers me in a supernatural way. But i haven't really hear HIS voice(audibly) but i always hear HE speaks to my heart when I'm in the bathroom. When HE says something it always words from the scriptures. That's when i know it's not my thoughts because i am not someone who is polite to myself. HIS voice is so soothing. Keep reminding me to do right things and follow HIS path faithfully. Praise the LORD!

I am glad that God speaks to us through His voice, dreams, visions, His angels, still small voice, and the bible.
I've never heard God audibly speak to me. There are times I felt like God was leading me, but I could be wrong. Regardless, I still trust that he is all-powerful. I'm content with him even when he doesn't give me my way.

I have learnt how to hear God's voice through Mark Virkler's teaching.... He is an amazing and gifted teacher...
I really want to hear my Lord and develop that relationship.
There is only one time after an event i wont get into where God CLEARLY communicated with me and that was before i became a Christian, but back then God knew who i'd become and treated me before i was a christian in the same way He treated me after i became a Christian if you know what i mean.
Basically, i bought a book on Astral travel through mail order way back in the day, it looked interesting. When i ordered it God said "WHEN THE BOOK ARRIVES YOU ARE NOT TO EVEN OPEN THE BOOK, RETURN IT IMMEDIATELY".
That worried me because it never happened before, it wasnt an audible voice, it was a clear inner voice that wasnt mine because i wanted the book.
Anyway, i obeyed that voice, box came, opened the box, got the return label and sent that book back, didnt DARE crack it open.
God is AMAZING
Its never happened again since but i know it can and does happen so i want it because i want to be closer to God.

This scripture is so powerful,.. out of the mouth are rivers of flowing water. This is my first time seeing these words of the bible.
You can say David did the same thing, he did not journal but he spoke out his heart to the Lord! I never used to journal until I heard Mark Vikler speak about the importance of journaling, I'm blown away how God speak to me through my journals and confirms what I journal! I just started to journal as of this year, and amazingly I go to this women's conference and this women who was there, that has the prophetic gift, looks at me and say, do not stop journaling, the lord will continue to speak to you! There was no way of her knowing that, I've never told anyone that I started journaling, no one! Then a a young Christian girl, who has been journaling for years, and one night she felt like a heavy dark weight over her and felt led to journal the lyrics of a song by Johnathan David Healer called "Abba" she wrote the lyrics words by word and she said as she was writing it she felt the heaviness lift off of her, then the next day while her husband was in the middle of worshiping passed away and died, the Lord was preparing her heart ahead for what was gonna happen through her journal and the Lord had given her an amazing strength to endure her husband passing away! Another thing is that the guy that sings the song David Johnathan Hesler also journals and has given testimony on how God speaks!
While Johnathan David Hesler was in the Dominican Republic, that by the way was paid by a friend, had took a few minutes to journal and he wrote an honest thank you prayer yo the to the lord thanking him for this free trip, then he skipped a line to allow God response when he starts to write " the lord said s "Johnathan this trip is about me ministering to you, I want to serve you" as he is writing this, he hears a knock on the door from his hotel room, he then opens the door, there is this Dominican man standing there with Johnathan David's breakfast and the man name was Jesus! Amazing God giving him confirmation!!! God works in mysterious ways he delight in loving us and giving us good gifts!

Your mind is the reason why you can't hear God's voice.The Holy Spirit deals with your spirit, not your mind.If you want to hear God's voice you need to submit your mind to the Word of God and realize God deals with the spirit of man.

If you are a true christian, and a strong believer in God, read ur bibble, fast, and pray and focus ur mind and attention on the Lord, when you talk to him build a close relationship with him, give him praises and glorify him, find time for him, if we can find time for everything else why not give find time for him, he is so worthy, and no you don't have to by anything from noone just to hear his voice speak to you, again fast, pray ,build a relationship with him when you can be by urself, go inside a closed room do this and meditate on him, why bye a book to do this, this is people with deceiving spirits, only using the Lord to benefit their pockets, watch out for for false prophets, and preachers ect,open up ur eyes to the real truth, don't be deceived by the one's who dont mean you any good at all, be careful, Lord have mercy.

As for Mark's teachings on this topic - EXCELLENT. Very practical. Not, as a few fearful souls wrote below, an "opening to demonic spirits". If we ask the Father for bread will he give us a stone or a serpant or a scorpion? No, of course not! Some people sometimes have more faith in the devil's power to deceive than they do in the Holy Spirit's power to teach. If, however, you are opening yourself to listen to any spirit and not submitted to Jesus then you could get into trouble.
As for "who's who" lists they are next to worthless and mean nothing - I've even received offers over the years to pay to add information to my name on such lists. No point in referring to such lists. I would never think of listening to someone just because their name was on some list like this.

+scottatutube1 I know this is an old comment, but I have to speak to this issue of the "emergent"/charismatic movement which has infected mainstream Christianity, causing many to be greedy for spiritual experiences. Mysticism has invaded full force, leaving many thinking that if they're not having mystical experiences, they're not close to God, and so they need to hear new revelations daily, now. Now all of a sudden, His revealed Will (the scriptures) is no longer enough? We are instructed to pray to contact God, not employ occult methodologies to force an answer out of Him.
People like myself who are pointing this out *are* fearful, yes, fearful of God Almighty, we love what He loves and hate what He hates. I personally *do* have more faith in God than the devil - I don't take what you said personally. However, we were warned that satan appears as an angel of light, that false prophets and false teachers would be abundant in these days. As someone who has studied divination, I can say without a doubt that *two-way journaling* combined with visualization and "clearing your mind" *is mediumship/channeling*, and no matter what spirit you think you're speaking to or want to contact, this is a forbidden practice which God hates. I think most Christians agree on what the road to hell is paved with.
So, since God forbade mediumship, would God speak through a method He finds detestable, which would basically invalidate His Word and make Him a liar? ...No. I'm sorry, but I honestly can't believe any God-fearing Bible-reading Christian actually believes these deceived deceivers who are *selling* a man-made method which is so obviously occult mediumship a.k.a. automatic writing re-branded for a Christian audience - "guaranteed or your money back"! Oh, I guarantee you'll hear *something*, and it will either be "vain imaginings", a fallen angel or a demon.
Matthew 7:9 does not imply that God will give us what we want no matter if it's His Will or not, it means He will always give us what is best for us, and sometimes what is best is being taught a lesson for being foolish. God have mercy!

Me too and I haven't heard it in awhile it's really starting to bother me.I don't know what to do I've surrendered everything over to God.I repent every 20mins just in case I've done anything wrong.I'm trying to walk in love,humility reading my word etc.Its been making me want to cry God has been answering my prayers.But I've haven't heard his voice in a long time.

The other thing that works for me is listening to Hebrew gospel songs e.g Paul Walber's Kadosh song. I immediately settle into that peaceful mode and thereafter conversation with God carries more audibly.
When I wrote this comment I didn't know the deception of names God Jezeus/Jesus,Lord and the whole Hebrew fake Israelites worshiping the star of molech calling it star of David.

I like Mark and his concept has an anchor in scripture and hence has merit, but I also get a bit mixed feelings about this. Cultivating is positive, but done in excess may morph into cultish. Visualisation may open the door to projection. Self censorship and checks based on scripture and counselors are recommended, but here again like mindedness may translate to bias and blur the controls. IN THE END WE MUST BE USING BOTH SIDES OF THE BRAIN IN BALANCE - BIBLE CALLS FOR LOVE OF GOD WITH HEART MIND MIGHT ! How else can we obey this than by activating it all ?

I don't think it's the teaching that is to blame. I do think you are in a good position to hear from God instead, but you must need help cleaning house. I would like to offer my help if you are still struggling with this annoyance. He who is in us is much greater than he who is in the world, and his friends.

Hi Enzaz!!! If you are born again (received Jesus as Savior), you probably hear G-d, but don't realize it. It can be an inside voice in your head that you think is your own. I recommend reading the Word, praising and worship, and prayer. Also one way I hear very strongly (if you speak in tongues, and if you don't pray for it) is by singing in tongues (This is in I Corinthians), people can feel the Spirit shift and then he speaks. One thing, Ruth Ward Heflin taught is praise the L-rd until the Spirit of worship comes, worship the L-rd until the glory comes and stand in the glory. I highly recommend her book Revelation Glory (I think it is $5.00). It is really amazing--life changing. Also another key is spending a lot of time in His presence after you worshiped (says in word His presence comes with worship), and rest in Him, and also journaling your love messages to Him--building intimacy. He speaks to His beloved!!!! I pray right now that G-d will speak to you, and He will give you the revelation that it is Him!!! That you won't go a day any more without hearing Him in Jesus's name!!!!!!!!!! Amen! G-d bless you!!!!!

You never get him except he does. It is in your DNA, and it comes sudden through incidentally /accidentally, if you grab that movement then your life will be changed.

Perhaps, the Lord was speaking about His sheep hear the Lord God's Word, which is the Bible. Thus, why He knows us and we follow Him. This is not to say, that the Holy Spirit doesn't speak audibly to some of His people. There are steps that one goes through before doing so and I have never read anyone sharing it. Therefore, it is impossible for me to believe these stories. Remain in faith and be an example for Christ. ❤

I completely agree with the fact that we need to focus on the Bible, but the Bible is living and active...the one thing the Bible does is start your journey. It shows you how to do everything including hearing God's voice personally. The word isint the end, the word is only the beginning
Aaron Patterson Our mainly focus and center should be the word of God. What the word of God does is sharpen our inner ear. The more you spend time with the word you will understand his true voice,because when some one said "God says this and that" you will be able to identify weather it's him or them. No the word is the only way.

I don't think you understood what I was saying. I agree with you! Everything in the word is incredibly important and your right, we learn to recognise God's voice through the Bible. All I'm saying is, that yes the Bible is directly inspired of God, and when we hear it being read we are hearing God's voice...
But within the Bible, it talks about how we hear our papa's voice, and we know his voice. Even with the gifts of the spirit, word of knowledge, word of wisdom, tongues, interpretation of tongues, is all linked with direct conversation between us and God.

Mark, why don't you come clean with the public before they spend money on this book by mentioning in the video that this book on its own is incomplete! Why? Because after they have bought the book they will find, as I have, that in the Introduction it says they will also HAVE to buy 10 DVDs to accompany the 10 chapters of the book for 10 weeks! It is there that you mention that we have to "journal" with some friends for this length of time, and THEN that we shall hear God's voice. How dare you, Mark say, '"We must "practice truth"" (your words)? I doubt that sweet Jesus would have had a quiet word in your ear to keep this vital piece of info from prospective buyers. Jesus was open, frank, honest and above all truthful, and it cost Him His life for our sake (us sinners), to save us from sins and so that we can aim to be like Him. Since you've no doubt made enough money on the books, why not show these DVDs for free on TH-cam like many preachers do? Is it not better to give than to take?

i'm sorry, Mr. Virkler, but you are misleading the body here. Maybe this is the way you have learned to hear from the Father, but that hasn't ever been my experience! God audibly speaks to me, like when Saul was knocked off his horse on his way to persecute the Christians. Saul/Paul, wasn't in a quite place, with his eyes fixed on Jesus. I take the word literally. God does audibly speak to me, he gives me dreams and visions, birthed from his spirit. I can assure you, if our mind is involved, as in spontaneous thought, its not God. Now, can God give us supernatural importation? Absolutely, yes, He can and does! In fact, He has used me to speak to others, without any premeditated thought, in fact, the words I spoke had no place of logic of knowing on my part at all!
