- एक प्रदेश । एक शख्सियत । एक राजा, जिसने सच्चे मायनों में राज किया । लोगों के दिलों पर राज करना जिसकी सबसे बड़ी ताकत बनी। जिसने साबित किया कि, ज़मीन और राजगद्दी से कहीं कीमती है एक मां कि मुस्कान, जिसका बच्चा अच्छे स्कूल में जाता हो । सत्ता और सियासत से बड़ी कीमत है उस शख्स के चेहरे पर खिली मुस्कराहट जिसे सुदूर इलाकों में भी मिला अस्पताल । राज वीरभद्र सिंह वो नाम है जिसने पचास से भी अधिक वर्षों तक हिमाचल की सेवा में दिन-रात एक कर दिया । जिसने सोने और चांदी की राजगद्दी को ख़ुशी से छोड़कर मुश्किल पहाड़ी रास्तों पर चलना स्वीकार किया, क्योंकि राजा का असल फ़र्ज़ है लोगों की खुशहाली और तरक्की । राजा वीरभद्र सिंह ही वो एकमात्र शख्सियत हैं जिन्होंने ये साबित करके दिखा दिया की राजा वही है जिसे लोग दिल से अपना राजा मानें ।
