I would recomend the warhammer videos on the Templin Institute. They are very rich, have low levels of entry to enjoy. IF the empero had text to speach is also excelent but its a LOT of content to comit to.
Dig deeper into this rabbit hole of Grimdark awesomeness. TTS and Helsreach videos are great and you wont regret reacting to them..

I really love that you're delving into Warhammer 40k. But hey, if you ever feel like giving Warhammer Fantasy a glance, might I recommend Karak Eight Peaks by The Book of Choyer. It's a really good lore/machinima channel that really deserves more recognition. You will not regret it, that channel single-handily got me invested in the Warhammer Fantasy lore.

Genestealers,are indeed a specific strain of Tyranid, but they are also in the tabletop game books ,their own faction, separate from the Tyranids, kinda like the Mechanicus and imperial guard are separated from the Space Marines army.

have you guys seen Astartes or HELSREACH? both are worth a watch, Astartes is very short and all 4 videos (currently 4, i think there are more coming sometime) can be done in one go (totals to like 10 minutes probably?), while HELSREACH is like 2 hours in total probably? with 13 episodes total

Specifically from him I'd highly recomnend checking out the video on Conrad Curze, Tuska Daemonkilla and the Siege Of Vraks series.

I started to get into Warhammer: 40k! Going to collect Salamander Space Marines!
If you guys do want to pick up this game, they have worked a bit on the optimization before they dropped it, and there's some options that you can scale back if your rig can't handle everything to make it run smoother. It's 100% worth it with like a group of 3-4, but drops down the less people you have in a dedicated group. Running the game as a solo pug in multiplayer is a crapshoot because either everyone's cranking on Friendly Fire on the hardest difficulty, or people are not picking classes or weapons to compliment each other. Typical pug life stuff.
The game itself isn't being updated anymore from what I can tell, but it's in a state that's fun for not trying to take it balls to the wall serious. Normal rants of "It's too ez, that's why FF is on!!" or "WTF, this is WAY too hard!".

Um, yeah nah. Marvel typically isn't too anal about copyright (plus a ship and a monster are two very different things) and space hulks in 40k were around before starcraft.
