Although the recipe still remains secret, I'm convinced yours will be a very close second. Thank you from a new fan!

Thanks so much Maria for your kind words ♥️ this is a must make recipe. A real crowd pleaser 😋😋
Brilliant 👌🏻 Greetings from Scotland 😊 Have a wonderful day everyone 🌻
Watching your video has definitely convinced me that I should try to make these too, including the puff pastry! Everything was just spot on, and I'm glad that you ate them while they were still warm and with the cinnamon. Great job and thank you for the inspiration! Now, if you want to make more Portuguese pastries, try making queijadas. They come in several varieties - orange, almond, bean, beer and queijadas de Sintra. I love them even more than pastéis de nata. BTW - pastéis de nata is the plural of pastel de nata (literally "pastry of cream").
So glad you are going to try out the recipe, surely you will love these delicious pastries! I will add queijadas to the list😊
Great teacher and love your rolling pen. I baked with my mom when I was a kid until she passed away when I was 13yo. Now I can learn from you and share teaching moments with my granddaughter while making wonderful memories that she can pass on one day. My mom made an amazing lemon pound cake. I never got to learn that one. Can you please do a tutorial on that, please.
Thanks Renee for your kind words. See the recipe of lemon loaf on my TH-cam channel th-cam.com/video/FBs6x1YnYHQ/w-d-xo.html
Wooooow may I have two to eat my friend.👍👍👍
Pastéis de Belém are even better with the hidden secret ☺️ I’ve made pastéis de nata many times but will never be the same as the real thing !
This looks scrumptious ! Watching you make the pastry dough was so amazing and detailed . The custard looks fairly easy and delicious ! Thank you for sharing this recipe !
Thanks so much. So glad you enjoyed watching my video and found it helpful. This is a must make recipe. A ready crowd pleaser 😋😋

I love custard tarts and always thought they were really hard to make. Thanks for the the simple to follow recipe!
Me too! Dwayne these are super easy to make and absolutely irresistible. One is just not enough 😋😋
We would love dear to see the texture of the dessert after cooking it , not just eating it :) ❤
That's a great weekend Start,
Portuguese Custard Tarts.
This is sure gonna be Tasty,
Deliciously rolled out Puff Pastry.
Clean fingers combine the dough,
Wait, there's plenty more to go.
Gently rolled out without a crack,
Wendy certainly has the knack,
Step 2 says flip over flap.
The folds are increasing,
Without creasing,
Waiting eagerly,
To see the Custard forming.
Layers of dough shaped in the mould,
Custard is poured for them to hold.
Temptation leads Wendy to indulge,
Hmmmm, I wish I could headlong plunge.😋😋
Wendy, thanks for sharing this yummylicious recipe. Will pass it on to my daughter to try.
👍👌💜💜💜💜💜💞💞
Brilliant poetry as always! Hope your daughter enjoys the custard tarts🤗

This was on my to-do list. Hope I can make them soon. Thanks for your lovely recipes. Outstanding!!
Hi Wendy I always love watching your cooking , your explanations are so simple and you make it sound like it's so simple,
The pastry you made can it be used for pies and sausage rolls ,
Si señora, enhorabuena.
Thanks Wendy for the way you patiently explain and demonstrate the making of the puff pastry. the sound of the crunch of the pastry as you bit into the tart was like music to the ears . it indicated the success of the puff pastry. just a question - Do i have to refrigerate or freeze the puff pastry, in case i want to make them in advance. also for how long can i store the puff pastry.
Clare, it depends on how much in advance you want to prepare the puff pastry. If it’s a day or two ahead I suggest the fridge. You can store the puff pastry in the fridge for about 3-4 days and in the freezer for atleast a month.
Thank you for including the ingredients in spoons and cups measurements. Your demonstration looks easy to follow. It would have been nice to see the cut of the tarts.
I am so happy I came across your channel! I’ve been binge watching your videos. What is your opening line - I cannot tell.. I share with you recipes that …?
Ah so happy to have you here! Its "I share with you recipes which impress with ease"
I love your recipes👌can we perhaps buy this Special Pastry Dough...you really need lots of patience...👌👌
Thanks Sheila. Yes you could use puff pastry to make the tarts if you wanted. Just roll the store bought puff pastry just a bit before proceeding with the process of making the tarts.
❤
I am from Portugal, and no one but, no-one is aware of the real recipe, it's been within the family for 500 years, and it's a very well-kept secret. These are cream custard tarts 😅😅
Hi Wendy, Love your custard tarts but the dough seems to be rolled out many times. Do I have to do it so often if I use ready pastry?
I watched your Pan Rolls which my Mother was a master at. However, I missed the ingredient (white) which you crushed over the meat.
You are an excellent presenter and love how you make it all look so easy.
Thank you for sharing these beautiful recipes which bring back memories. ❤❤
Thanks Patricia for your kind words. If you get store bought puff pastry you do not need to roll it out just use it right away.
Please show the close up of the cross section of the cut tart which helps to see the texture of the filling and the flakiness crust.
Hi looks yummy..I'm not able to find written recipe link
Its now in the description box - platinitwithwendy.com/blog/the-best-portuguese-custard-tarts-pasteis-de-nata-pastel-de-nata/
Hi Wendy, can we use this puff pastry dough for your chicken puff patties recipe
For sure Gina 😊🥰 only one tip here, I would roll out the sheet just about 1/2” more on each side, then apply some melted butter on the surface before rolling it into a log. The butter is going to help it stick and stay together. Always roll from the shorter end of the rectangle Enjoy !
What is the name of the sheet you are using (underneath, when you are making the dough); seems especially made for baking.
Hi, I have tried your recipe. I don’t know why the bottom of the tart was soggy and not browned. I already baked it extra 5 minutes. Otherwise it tasted really good.
Your tart mold is not linked in your Amazon store. The recipe looks delish !!
You can now find it in the description box - www.amazon.com/dp/B09G2RQ67F?ref=exp_platinitwithwendy_dp_vv_d
I like the tip about marking the cross before final rolling. I have never seen thst before and it certainly seems to work! Thank you.
