    My honest reaction to the background music :
    My name is Yoshikage Kira. I’m 33 years old. My house is in the northeast section of Morioh, where all the villas are, and I am not married. I work as an employee for the Kame Yu department stores, and I get home every day by 8 PM at the latest. I don’t smoke, but I occasionally drink. I’m in bed by 11 PM, and make sure I get eight hours of sleep, no matter what. After having a glass of warm milk and doing about twenty minutes of stretches before going to bed, I usually have no problems sleeping until morning. Just like a baby, I wake up without any fatigue or stress in the morning.
    I was told there were no issues at my last check-up. I’m trying to explain that I’m a person who wishes to live a very quiet life. I take care not to trouble myself with any enemies, like winning and losing, that would cause me to lose sleep at night. That is how I deal with society, and I know that is what brings me happiness. Although, if I were to fight I wouldn’t lose to anyone.

Your only options for refueling are docking at a station, or flying near stars with a fuel scoop if you leave civilized space. It can take months to get from point A to point B on long hauls across the galaxy.

And we are only talking about 400 billion star systems and very roughly 4 trillion planets based on best guesses because the actual number is completely unknown. The number of planets in No Man's Sky is what, 18.466 quintillion??? Cool number, but we will all be dead and our kids will be dead and their kids too LONG before a reasonable fraction of 1% will be discovered. Even If you got 7 billion people to all discover 50 planets a day, every single day, it would take almost 8,000 years to discover simply 1 quintillion planets. Discovering 350 billion planets a day is only enough to discover 0.00055% of the game in the average human lifespan. Dayz feels a whole lot bigger since you can only walk, a car is a rare dangerous and buggy mess usually so that’s out of the question. It takes hours to travel across the country

    Ahm... No Man Sky has a theoretical largest size. But due to "cheating" with some game mechanics, it isn't actually that big. However, Elite Dangerous has a 1:1 scale galaxy size.... sooo...

    • @brutlern
      @brutlern 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Offisianシ Short explanation:
      NMS is not a 1:1 scale of anything. It's a fictional universe which may or may not be as big as they say because no one will ever be able to verify it.
      Long explanation rant:
      Because there is a difference between the "observable" universe and the "whole" universe. The observable universe is approximately 93 billion LY but the whole universe is theoretically infinite. You cannot do a 1:1 scale of something infinite (unless fractals???). The devs say they have 18 quintillion planets. But can anyone actually ever verify this? Elite Dangerous has 400 billion star systems, and yet despite the game being 7+ years old now, only about 0.05% (thats half of 1 percent!) has actually been discovered by the players. So how do you think anyone will ever discover (and thus confirm) 18 quintillion planets? Not in our lifetime. So can NMS have a 1:1 scale of something infinite? If it's a 1:1 scale of the observable universe than why dont the devs just say that? It would be a pretty impressive feat. But instead, they just said they generated a fixed number of planets (which is not infinite and thus cannot be 1:1 scale of the universe) and it's a number which is large enough so it can never be proved or disproved. End rant.
