    One of the most annoying things Trisha does is say shes not upset when shes VERY CLEARLY upset and just goes on a gaslighting spree. Ugh I forgot how cringe this episode is ADAM HELP 😆

  • @heyemilayy

    I think Trisha had a fit about the nanny because Hila and Ethan trusted the nanny with Theodore but wouldn’t trust Moses and Trisha to watch him alone. In the first episode I remember Trisha saying something about coming to their house to see Theo and Ethan said no. Over time they did come to family events, but I don’t think Hila and Ethan (or any sane parent) would allow them to babysit their kids. She also kept saying “I would only trust my kids with family”. I feel like she was trying to hint that she and Moses should be trusted over the nanny. She just wasn’t emotionally mature enough to express that she wished she had a better relationship with them to be trusted with Theo. So, she went off on some weird tangent about Hila hating her and how no one should ever have a nanny, & you should only trust your kids with family. As seen here, sometimes your kids are better off with a nanny even if family is available/willing to babysit. 😂😂

    Adam you missed that Trisha said “cause I feel like she hates and she doesn’t like me” before Ethan told her not to talk about Hila. THATS why Ethan got mad. He’s explaining that we can talk about Hila (he said “we talked about her last episode”) but then Trisha went on about omg Hila hates me :(. Like Trisha you’re creating a bigger divide that Hila and Moses are trying to resolve.

    • @iluvzebras10
      @iluvzebras10 ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s typically the opposite to how narcissists work. Typically someone will be having an emotional reaction and they’re the ones who are calm cause they intended for that situation to happen. Much like he intended her to have an emotional outburst then when she went too far (cause she literally has bpd) he pretended to be surprised. I’m so tired of peoples uneducated opinions. Neither party is innocent but Ethan intentionally pushed for a reaction from a mentally ill person, for views. Let’s not be stupid about it.

    I think Ethan had more reason than just his wife asking not to talk about her on their show. Ethan was setting boundaries because Trisha says untrue shit talking about his wife and she doesn’t like that. If Trisha wanted she could say the same “Don’t talk about my Partner and I” but then she would have nothing to talk about. Trisha has the emotional maturity of a 14 year old.

    • @kayphoenixraven
      @kayphoenixraven ปีที่แล้ว +2

      right, like Trisha was constantly crossing those boundaries and bringing up family-related issues when all he wanted was for her not to mention that. She would constantly weaponize those things when angry.

    • @AikoFox
      @AikoFox ปีที่แล้ว

      @@kayphoenixravenExactly. Its her weaponizing things and him knowing that. Like she did with the pills and other things coming left field from jealousy or whatever hair happened to be up her butt at the moment. She's dangerous when it comes to stuff like that. You have to set firm boundaries and keep ppl and information you really really value and love away from people like her or else it will be a wild venomous mess of them twisting and throwing it in your face while playing victim. I've had to cut out 2 people that did that to me real quick and learned early on to hold the things most important close to my chest. Nobody likes to have an s/o or something serious in their life tossed up like its nothing just bc somebody is having an immature moment. Its very serious. I don't even care for Ethan that much but sometimes you have to say a hard "NO" and have that NO be a complete sentence. It gets tiring having to always handle ppl like her with kiddie gloves and its not even worth it.

  • @Lankynibs
    @Lankynibs ปีที่แล้ว +56

    Tbh it seems like she was experiencing “splitting”, which happens a lot in bpd. I have bpd and when I feel hurt I’ll get very defensive and say things I don’t actually mean, like really quick snappy things that hurt other people (and hurt me to say). It’s like you’re watching yourself and you’re seeing it happen but you create cognitive dissonance in the moment and lose it, then dissociate, and come back later to reality and realize what you said 💀 watching Frenemies actually made me waaay more aware of my own toxic behaviors and helped me start doing CBT/DBT exercises in order to handle my emotions better. So, weirdly, thanks Trisha!! lmao 😂💀

    • @drina4706
      @drina4706 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      It's not splitting. When anyone feels hurt they say thing they don't mean. And Trisha doesn't have bpd or if she does she has NPD and histrionic personality disorder as well. Her situation is more difficult. Peoplensay things that are mean when they feel hurt. Then we realize we screwed up and we apologized and attempt to do better. If you do that you are doing what everyone does. Don't be hard on yourself. And DBT is wonderful!!! Doing what it says really helps. Everyone can benefit from DBT and CBT. Nobody is perfect. Expect for Jesus and GOD the FATHER and THE HOLY SPIRIT. That's all.

    In my opinion hila had a right to not want to be talked about on frenemies. There was a lot of background drama within her family and she probably didn’t want Trish to bring it up. But that wasn’t her reasoning according to Ethan, he didn’t want her to talk about Hila because she said that Trisha was annoying considering every time Hila was brought up Trisha would mention how she though she hated her. Which is really silly, if Hila thought it was annoying she should’ve came to her as an adult and told her that she didn’t feel that way, then it’s up to Trisha if she wants to believe that or not. 🤷

    It makes me so angry when Trisha thinks that when Ethan says “do you know what it’s like to be with/raise a 1 year old?” It is not a jab at her not being able to have kids. It’s a pet peeve when childless people (I know she has a baby now but not when this video was made) tries to criticize parents on how they raise their kids. She has no idea not because she “can’t have kids” it’s because she isn’t a parent (at that time) and doesn’t understand what it is like. Either person handled the situations on this episode in the best way but Trisha basically criticizing Ethan and Hila parenting just boils my blood.

    Honestly I still think Trish was in the wrong. If she believed hila didn’t like her and wanted to change it. She should have talked to hila about it in private. Not talk about it during the podcast. That conversation didn’t need an audience. Furthermore, Ethan set a boundary to not bring up hila. Yes, he was firm when saying it. That could make you feel some type of way. However, you respect that boundary and move on from it. Which Trish didn’t and instead flipped out. If someone doesn’t want to be talked about or brought up just leave it at that. Why do you feel the need to bring up the person so bad ?

    As someone with borderline personality disorder, there's no excuse to how she reacted - but I absolutely also would have taken Ethan's don't talk about Hila reponse personally and as an attack. While I am not a confrontational person, I would have started crying and been overwhelmed and I can't help, but feel that if Trisha shut down and gotten emotional (without aggression) that Ethan would have unintentionally started to invalidate her feelings by saying she was being dramatic and that it's not that deep or pried about why she was crying.
    That's only my vibe because that's 100% what my brother would do and Ethan carries himself in a similar way to my brother. I think that's what made this podcast hard to watch at times (for myself) - them fighting made me so anxious to the point where I was physically uncomfortable and did not watch the last episode... because this is how my brother and I end up fighting when he says something cold, my feelings get hurt, I cry, and then he invalidates my feelings, I go on the offense, and I'm the ONLY one in the wrong and he never has to take any accountability.

    Don’t get the argument at all, the bit when she started and said she wouldn’t have a nanny when she has a kid, then says he’s being inconsiderate talking to her about kids cos she can’t have one as she’s infertile. She brought the subject of kids and childcare up, and obviously now has a child. Such a strange argument!

    One last thing, if a person constantly repeats the same questions it’s going to be irritating. Trish already got her answer about if hila hates her but still brings it up. Ofc you’re going to be upset. Then for Trish to say she should do this. Hila doesn’t have to do anything. She already gave an answer. It’s just hila isn’t an ass kisser like Trisha is used to

    I don’t like Ethan and don’t care one way or another for h3h3 or whatever podcast he and his wife run. He wasn’t being dramatic when stopping the chatter/convos concerning his wife and her family. He knew what was happening and the strife it was causing irl. That entire tantrum was her doing and a mess she made. It was gross and uncalled for.

    I think Trisha may have felt that he was actively trying to trip her up and shit on her idea. It's quite easy to upset her train of thought and throw her off. And I ha e a feeling he knew that. And Trisha wanted to find a gap to needlebhim back with.

    Trisha is splitting and when that happens everything goes from being good to everything is horrible. She feels rejected and it's very easy for people with bpd to assume everyone hates them even when they say they don't. It's like a constant state of thinking everyone is thinking the worst of you.
    Doesn't mean how she's reacting is ok but she is saying hurtful things because she's feeling hurt. So she is definitely saying the nanny thing to hurt them not because she honestly believes it. She will think everything is an attack. Them talking while she's in this state is completely useless lol you can't rationalize with an irrational brain.
    This is why she could flip flop so easily with loving and hating everyone at H3 and why she can get over it so easily.

    For someone who “doesn’t care”, she is getting awfully emotional. Instead of acting like you’re fine when you’re clearly not, be an adult and say what’s upsetting you. It’s so important to just talk to people and express your feelings. Calling Hila all those names was well out of line. And Ethan’s right - not everyone has the luxury of not working so they can spend time with their kids. Some parents have to work multiple jobs to support their families.

    Trisha is an open book and has built her entire career on her own drama and her personal life. Hila has never been one to be open about that stuff hides a lot of her life and her children from TH-cam. You literally can’t compare the two.

    i’m biased because i have severe anxiety and i am kind of quick to anger but one of the many reasons i don’t like ethan is how annoying and immature he is even in the pizza ordering example???? it is one tiny part of years worth of ethan acting irritating that make up my dislike of him but at this point one instance of him ignorantly semi yelling shit like a little baby instead of acting like a person sends me into a rage. also he definitely doesn’t genuinely respect lgbtqia+ people or poc in any meaningful way but no one cares haha xoxoxoxoxo

    If Trish doesn’t want to talk about something. She needs to say that. Or just simply ignore which she has before. It’s nothing she hasn’t done before. Trish is known for saying the most outlandish things and saying private things about herself so it’s going to be hard to know where the boundaries are. Yes, they’re both in the wrong for not communicating what to talk about and what to not bring up. The video shouldn’t have kept going. Let alone uploaded in my opinion

    I agree that in that small moment, Ethan did come off as rude as fuck. He could have used a different tone, because its just the way he said it. Not the fact that he did. I get protecting his wife, but the tone he used just rubs me the wrong way.
    Even if that was his intention or not to sound that way

  • @livpaige1997
    @livpaige1997 ปีที่แล้ว

    commenting at 10:56, I agree, Ethan was way too dramatic about wanting to not talk about hila BUT I think he knew it would spiral into something like the fight. He's terrible at confrontation and could have handled that differently to avoid that but he's Ethan. I do think Trisha was also already upset and flustered from being overwhelmed with the pizza call, I can totally see myself in her shoes. If I was her and I could tell that Ethan was only being obnoxious on the phone to annoy me, it would have made my blood boil. I'm super nerodivergent and talking on the phone to strangers is so stressful and if Ethan did that to me, I might have made a much bigger deal about it than Trisha. For her to hold that back I can understand why she would be so triggered by Ethan shutting her down like that when talking about Hila when Hila and Ethan didn't hesitate to talk about her and Moses prior.
    2 years of perspective really makes you see things differently.
