Lovely pool for them,but I always thought they likes to have a raised area like a rock to come out onto.i did not think they stayed underwater.All the others I have seen have had areas where they could come out and rest on..But I do think it’s a pretty fountain 🥰
Since water turtles breathe through lungs, they must come to the surface to breathe. Depending on their activity level, they can hold their breath for several hours, and in a state of rest or sleep they can stay underwater for 4-7 hours. Drowning animals must come to the surface to get oxygen.

That's right, but right now they are still small so it will be a while before I leave a small island for them to lay eggs
