Took my Fahrenheit in to Red Run across from John Huber's this past weekend and one of the guys cut off my resonators right then and there, said it would be around $80. About 20 minutes later he comes in to have me see how it sounds, I was happy with it he charged me $50 and I was on my way. Downshifting is so much more satisfying now than it was before.
Better to lower it yourself, i did the read by myself. No car or tool experience and it took me about an hour. It was $119 for both front and rear springs
You want a real kick? Straight pipe it, add a cold air intake! I own a 2.5l, has this cool little feature where you basically run it as a manual without a clutch kinda like paddle shifting it’s ridiculous.

Is your's a non-turbo motor? Someone down below pointed that out. I couldn't even fathom having only 115HP in a 3K pound car. Personally I have a 2016 Jetta Sport Turbo that comes with a 1.8T Motor and lowered sport tuned suspension on 17in rims. VW Rates these motors at 170hp but on 91 octane they actually dyno @ 192HP at the crank and 165HP at the wheels stock. First things I did was buy an AEM intake, CTS Down pipe and Exhaust , CTS Turbo discharge & charge coversion pipes with an APR stage 2 tune that now makes 242HP to the wheels, right @271 to the crank and runs high 13s all day long, 13.6-13.7 consistently. I have a little over 2K dollars in performance parts with the cost of the tune included, which isn't bad at all in my opinion considering I now have a Jetta that runs 13's. Stock the first time I ever ran it down the 1/4 miles it ran 15.2@90MPH completely stock. For the cost of a little over $800 With just an AEM CAI and Stage 1 APR tune I was running 14.3-14.4 all day long. And it does it reliably, I've now got 41k miles on my 2016 with zero problems. I'm about to give this one to my wife and buy a 2016-2018 Jetta GLI SE or Autobahn or a 2016-2019 VW GTI SE OR Autobahn with the performance package, i'm leaning toward the GLI. My first stop will be getting an APR tune when I buy one in the next couple of months.
Nice job boys. Rims are especially a nice touch✊I have 2012 Jetta 2.5 SE with a few minor upgrades (tints, LED interior lights and upgraded speaker system. Chipping it and straight piping it next.
Top Gear Shoppe I got a 2010 Jetta and just got my muffler and resonator delete today. Sounds insane then what I was expecting. How much is chipping going to be for yours?
Hey I have the same car but an 11 and am starting to work on it. If you have straight piped it yet, how did it go, any check engine lights and would you recommend? Also what speaker system did you upgrade to?
Erich Deitsch in my opinion. I think it’s just right, but it can get to much when driving for long amounts of time. But I love the sound and it doesn’t bother me!
Which high flow res was added? And was it worth it to get a new res or would it be better to just straight pipe the res and muffler but leaving the cat?
So I recently got a 2014 jetta se tsi and I want to make mine sounds just like yours not too loud but that low growl sound but I seen you saud yours is a 2.0 mine is a 1.8t so deleting res and muffler cause any issues?
any check engine lights? im thinking of just getting a res delete on mine since NY state probably wont pass inspection for a straight pipe, and its probably illegal too. would just taking off the resonator be loud?
No check engine light so far. The car wasn't strait piped just letting you know. lastly the res was by far the most effective way to get more sound out of the car.
A fully straight piped car is when all the restrictions are taken out which includes the cat, res, and muffler. In this case, the jetta is straight piped from the cat. And on this car it really isn't a resonator delete, a high flow res replaced the stock one.
Slap an intake on it and your turbo will be way louder. An intake and a downpipe will make that thing sound nice, find your closest APR dealer and throw a stage 1 tune and it'll run in the low 14's with an APR Stage 1 tune, Intake and downpipe. Run around 14.1-14.2 @ close to 100MPH all day long
Wow, it sounds great. It'd be nice if it was the turbocharged version TSI engine sounds better. I got it, did the same thing you did, you can hear the turbo spin.
