If I remember correctly when HW got the exclusive Ferrari licence they bought out BBurago's casting equipment. Its fairly obvious that both models are the same diecast mould. That being said, apart from the sidemirror most of the improved details on the HW are just paintwork, something that a decent model painter could do himself.
Yes it does look like they're pretty much the same, just the paint and details are a bit better in the Hot Wheels. And the engine definitely looks better.
Nice comparison on both models and HW did a better job at detailing than Bburago. I'm still confused on my own Hot Wheels 1/18 Testarossa because the interior is the same as to the Bburago model in the video even though it wasn't from a Hot Wheels Elite category.
nice comparison and yea, i had to do quite a bit of painting on mine to make it look more like the hot wheels. i guess my "hourly wage" ended up as the price difference to the hot wheels one anyway haha, minus the mirror. i did keep the bright interior and didnt black out the chrome rear horse on mine though, but ended up doing so on the GTO.

The most important on both, no headlights right?
Unfortunately not. The Kyosho does have popup headlights though.
