Wow, that C&O 614's just as impressive as the real one! We were lucky enough to ride behind 614 back in the mid-90's and quite ride it was! Thanks for posting!
Wayne, I could only imagine riding on the actual 614 locomotive. That had to be impressive to say the least. I hope you got yourself some photos of that precious moment. In person she had to be massive in size. Back to the model, I would like to find 6-8 passenger cars to match. I think this would look amazing as a passenger consist.
@@TwistedMacGyversTrains Oh wow Frank, don't get the wrong impression! We didn't ride ON 614, we were in the New Jersey Transit passenger cars it was pulling. This was one of the Ross Rowland / NJ Transit excursions that ran in 1996 and 1997. The trips ran from Hoboken NJ to Port Jervis NY on the old Erie mainline. It was quite a thrill!
I've got some photos around someplace but if you want to get an idea search "TH-cam C&O 614 Return Of A Thoroughbred" and you should find some videos of the trips.
@@TwistedMacGyversTrains It's been almost 30 years now but I think 614's whistle was deeper in tone than the MTH models. If I remember correctly it had more of a "steamboat" sound like N&W 611's or the "steamboat" whistle on Reading & Northern 2102. 2102's got two whistles, the "steamboat" and a "hooter."
Nice looking Steamer.! Glad Lionel does not use that battery system. Glad to hear they have a better rechargeable one though.! The night shots look very cool. 👍Awesome video Frank Thanks.! 😊
This is exactly how all my videos will be going forward. I discovered that the last program I use for encoding and for adding my ending was degrading my video quality from 4K down to 1080p. I was mortified when I found out. All these videos I’m uploading are 1080P when they should’ve been in 4K 60 frames a second. Thank you so much you are wonderful comment Mark! I decided to stay with the original MTH battery only the new ones are green now. And I picked up some spares to be safe.👍
I have the caboose that I bought from Mr. muffins but it’s way too small it’s not full O gauge. It looks so tiny behind the Greenbrier it looks so funny. So I took it off for the video. My goal is to get a half dozen to a dozen matching passenger cars. My preference is aluminum. That would look amazing!
Joey I think this is heavier than my Big Boy. We’re gonna have to get the scale out and check the Weight. This is truly a monster. Now if I can just find a half dozen to a dozen passenger cars to match.
This has been sitting on a shelf for over a year collecting dust. If you look closely at the thumbnail you can see it’s covered with dust. Post the engine and tender are extremely heavy. She’s a fantastic smoker as you’ve seen. I could only imagine this with a PS3 upgrade. The whistle sounds amazing. 👍
Thanks Bob! Well it hasn’t set them off as of yet. I don’t think this type of smoke can set it off. It would have to be very close to it. Thank you for watching.
The prototype of this is in Clifton Forge virginia, painted green, I wish they had never did that. Got the governor of west virginias name on the sand dome.
I did not know that, thank you for the information Gus. That’s ashamed that they painted a green. I prefer to have them black as well. I think the steamers look better painted flat black.
This was being run off of a MTH Z4000 transformer at the time. I have since upgraded to a Lionel ZW-L. It draws about 4.5 amps. It’s an extremely powerful locomotive and will pull anything you put behind it. Frank

Now I get it, I was really hoping you got to ride it. 😆 Did you happen to thewhistle blow?

Thank you very much! 👍

Great locomotive. Im surprised the house smoke detector did not go off. 😂😂😂
I know! That thing blows out some serious smoke! 😂
Great Steamer😊👍🚂🚂
This one is very heavy and draws a ton of amps! Don’t drop this guy on your foot. 🤣 Thank you so much for watching Chief! Frank
Awesome loco, she really put out the smoke, I enjoyed watching 👍🏻
Thanks, they are great smokers.
Glad you enjoyed it! I really appreciate your comment, thank you for watching. 👍
Cool, C&O Greenbrier Frank 👍. It needs that C&O yellow caboose or a C&O passenger consist

@TwistedMacGyversTrains I think that that caboose is scale. There the same as my premier mth cabooses.
@@TwistedMacGyversTrains I run them with my scale diesel locomotives.
Well that’s great news then. I will build a train and see how it looks.
Beautiful steam engine and she is a C&O awesome 🚂👍
Extremely heavy model! Can’t wait to get it upgraded to PS3.
Amazing steam engine Frank. That machine can really smoke! Nice job with the video.
Thank you very much Al! I can’t wait to get some passenger cars for it.
Great smoker,good running train 👍
Thanks Eddie! This thing draws 4.5 amps of power. This locomotive could pull a massive consist easily. I can’t wait to get it upgraded to PS3.
Frank! That is beautiful! How did I miss this video. Too many Coors I guess. I'd leave it proto1.
I love the whistle on this Greenbrier. I will definitely consider it now. Thank you! 👍
Yes, i want a Northern! Great smoker! Doesnt sound bad.

@@TwistedMacGyversTrains bet the 6464s look good behind it👍👍👍
We’re gonna find out Joey
Amazing engine Frank.
Thank you Hunter! 👍
That is a cool northern you have!
Thanks Matt! Today was the first day I’ve ever had it on the tracks.
I was just looking at one of these earlier today! 😂😂😁
It’s a beast! Minimum radius curve is 054. And it truly needs it.
@@TwistedMacGyversTrains ya that's why I didn't consider purchasing one lol, don't have wide curves on my layout
Oooh that’s gorgeous!
It’s so heavy, this thing weighs a ton so to speak. 😆 Thank you so much Ed! I really appreciate your comment and thank you for watching. 👍
Beautiful locomotive Frank! Good smoker! The shots in the dark are fantastic!

Cool Steam engine and nice run
Thanks Arthur! I appreciate you watching. 👍
Man! That’s a beautiful locomotive. I’m just half serious but can they set off smoke detectors?

Wow, that really smokes! Great firebox light on this one. What do you run for power if that is drawing 4 amps? 😮
