    Nice one Zack! Great mentality! If I may say, on your best makes, you ride straight up and down the transition. On your worst bails, you have too much approach angle and that makes the board fly away and it is harder to bring it back under you.
    Keep it up dude. It is great seeing these progress videos. Maximum stoke for you from Sweden!

    Dream trick! Definitely going to try this one on Go Skateboarding Day! Regarding the tight thigh muscle I have two suggestions. Try the couch stretch to loosen the muscle. And check out kneesovertoesguy's ATG Split Squat. Not only does that exercise stretch the hip flexors but strengthens your knee.

    for cramping, try to make sure you are drinking enough water, maybe even a banana before hitting the park. For the eye issue, Oakley full turbos have been the only shades. I can skate in. Will also wear a hat with a bandana underneath blocking the sun out of my peripheral vision. As for the invert, landed a couple late last year and it gave me an even stronger love for skateboarding. Hoping to have my knee and wrist healed up soon so i can be doing more. Love your videos, keep it up!

    The thigh issues is happening to my too when practicing a lot of early grabs, it comes from your legs pushing to get you into air. About the bright light issue. I use regular sport sunglasses made of plastic, they never move alot, but you also can get like a rubber strap to keep them in place. Only issues i noticed, with helmets they can be annoying and also if you are sweating a lot, the drops can fall in there.

  • @dreamygloom
    @dreamygloom 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I get that eye issue a lot in the mornings when I leave my house. The best thing that has helped is to begin adjusting my eyes to brighter light as I get ready to leave. I’ll open the windows, turn the brightness up on my phone, and adjust the brightness in my room to 100% using my smart bulbs.

    Awesome journey bro. Congrats. You were spending a lot of time going up quite sideways. In the end you need to go straight up and down. Also to start off it's less a sad type of grab/position but more stinkbug which helps to lay the base. Then your rear part goes up straight and board comes down more centered. I used to do'em 25 years ago. Now it makes me want to try again ! 😊

    I think as skateboarders we can all relate to the hours, days, months, years or hard grind (pun intended 😉) it sometimes takes to get that illusive dream trick that you can’t seem to imagine actually finally happening. Slow and steady wins the race. You did it basically without any bad bails. I would count those “tile” attempts, because it was just like 2 inches under the coping, but I understand that wasnt “it”. I think those invert tricks are a huge mental game. I would probably never try it myself

    Something that bothers me and I need to watch out for as a 35 year-old skater, stretch out your IT band. Putting one of your pinky toes on top of the other and crossing your legs, then bending towards the hip of the leg that is crossed over the other is a great stretch for the IT band. Look into stretching that muscle to see if it helps with your locking up symptoms. Also, water helps with me with feeling stiff or tired after a few attempts at something.

    I use knoxville xl from electric visual and they dont move at all when skating, but it took me a while to get used to and now even if i dont need them i have to use them to skate otherwise i feel weird.
    I second magnesium, i take one pill before skating in the morning and one pill at night, supposedly it helps with recovery too, so you dont feel like sht if you skate for 2 consecutive days or more.

    TIP: Fling out, and for the last half of the invert pull your hands towards each other (basically like you are trying to connect them to each other). I achieved a ninety something percent make rate on my inverts when I figured that out. I might have actually explained this tip more in depth (in comments) under your last video.👍🤙 For more, see my "reply" to my own comment here⬇️. Lol.🤷‍♂️🤪

    • @marcusprince3999
      @marcusprince3999 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Part of what helps so much by realizing this, is that you are taking the arm and hand that you grab the board with, and pulling the board directly to the spot that you need it to be (to ride out) and placing it, setting it down RIGHT there. This technique works better on a fairly straight up and down invert, than say a super carved out invert, ally oop, etc. Good luck and happy inverting sir.🤙

      And then it becomes a 1 out of 200. 1 out of 100. 1 out of 90. 80 75 72. TRIES , to get the one that is like the picture perfect one you know was " perfect" stalled out and stretched . It's one of those tricks / moves. Definitely a marathon thing. Mind melting discouraging , one I've punished myself by not doing , depriving myself cause then the one you throw down randomly.. Usually the first on an occoasion . . It's like that was the one. Taking time away and then just throwing it Ahhhhh when the handplant becomes the invert. Sorry for my ramble. But yeah I'm just learning how to bail out of them weirdly enough. Basically I did ones I wasn't proud of but were up to par. I feel proud when I toss one away.
