I figured everyone on this video would be here for him, and not J. Loren Wince. I'm much more familiar with Hurt, than Smile Empty Soul. I say all of that to say this... You should check out Hurt - Falls Apart, and (my favorite song ever) Hurt - Rapture.

I'm not sure about the violin in this should have been buried way down in the mix but it was a cool idea just didn't mix well
I think it's actually both instruments too loud and vocals too quiet now that I think about it
I agree. We had 5 mins to be live on air and the compressor of a radio station squashes things down, so its really hard to anticipate and mix trying to expect this device (that keeps something from blowing your speakers if somebody speaks a loud "P" will do. I love me some Shaun! Ideally we would've had 2 mixes so I could hear my violin and his voice would've been louder in the final product. But, gotta make it work on the spot. And electric violins make no noise in the room. Just fyi.
