What’s up guys and gals, I’m Kage848. I love to make videos for TH-cam, mostly early access survival games like 7 Days to Die, Empyrion, Raft, Mist Survival, The Forest, and more! Hey Kage, You can repair you defences with the build hammer...Hold right mouse button to repair. Also don't add 2 meat with 1 water, use 1 meat and 2 water. its a waste otherwise. 2 water with any raw ingredient except tomatoes. cook the canned food on the edge of the fire, but don't cook dog food, it disappears. I've started farming and it works fine so far, got a few things growing, corn, cucumber, strawberries. not harvested yet so unsure of whether you get seeds back. to find mushrooms/herbs easier, turn foliage down in settings to low. similar to "The Infected". Happy gaming
if you havent been there yet, the area south of the start area. there are 4 quonset hut/metal buildings/warehouses that are filled to the brim with seeds and fertilizers.
Those compressed biscuits gotta be Popeyes biscuits if they take away 30 thirst😂
Cooking 2 meat + 1 Honey makes Honey Meat Stew (10 carbs, 30 protein, 10 mentality, 25 strength, 10 endurance cap, 3 stamina regen). You can also use it to make wine when you get the wine barrel. Farming does work fairly well. After building the farm plot you will need to add a seed and water and fertilizer. Most things take 15 days to mature and give a random number of items from 2 - 10. Make sure the plants are done before winter though as the cold will kill the plants until you get the greenhouse. In many ways the farming is similar to The Infected.
Kage, the Jerky from the drying rack can be used as an ingredient in cooking, one shroom+jerky+water = broth witch is good protein and carbs and thirst

2 MUSHROOM AND A MEAT, cooked, is the best carb source I've found.
Also: I got the car where you got the truck. Drove near that gas station and stopped the car a ways off when I saw Z's running at me. Got out and ran before they got close, hoping they would chase me and instead they beat my empty car to death. I had it for like 5 glorious minutes. Need more repair kits now.
Jerky seems not worth it... but you can cook with it (add water and/or vegetables) so its a form of preserving the meat for later cooking.
I believe Honey adds the "Delicious" buff to something you've cooked in the pot. So it gives the food you eat the ability to buff you for a short time. Simple Parts require 1 of each Ingot. Iron, Copper and Aluminum. If you smelt the Ingots, use the Furnace. The Smelter still requires Fuel to make them, but the Furnace does not. You get 30 a pop for the electric burners at vendors. Gun parts you don't need, or want, give a bunch too. One you start using the skill books, you can sell them when finished. Each Tier of the books sells for more at the vendor. So you will get more for a level 5 book as opposed to the level 1 book. The amount you get for an item also gives you the same amount of faction with the vendor, but they have a max of 100 so don't gift them weapons because they run around 200-300 credit, or anything else that gives more than 100 credit. You can repair your weapons with the gun oil, so I'd maybe keep 1 extra of each weapon type, and sell the others to vendors for ammo. IF they have ammo. Smoker can be built inside your base. Bonfire can't be unfortunately. The Smoker makes your meat last longer, but you can still use jerky as the meat in recipes. So you can still make broth. I carry an extra pot I made with me and jerky. When I'm thirsty and I have dirty water I make fire and some broth. That thirst cost is too much to just eat them alone. You get some thirst back and you can still eat the broth even with a full protein bar. It costs you a little space for the pot but it's worth it for a longer looting excursions. I kept running out of clean water. Oh and careful with equipping your cart around your vehicles. Just like you pushed your truck, I sent my car flying when I equipped my cart and it popped in behind me while facing away from my car.
Hey there! Stop using logs on the fire. Make charcoal. You get 4 charcoal per log and much more time. Works good!
For the skill in the work benches, I've been making sure I've got some books, magazine and a cigarette or two and will read a book while waiting for the forge or whatever to do it's thing, that way I'm not just sitting idle waiting and it's kind of like doubling up the skills gained. The magaine and cigarette is there to boost mentality cause it depletes rather quickly.
I found a lot of food in the Huge Ship I and turned down the foliage to find the mushrooms. We did it in The Infected so did it here too :) I found a lot of magazines on the second floor of the Police Station. No joke, around 25 magazines there.
I feel like you play a new indie sandbox survival game and the developers watch what your critiques then mold the game. Keep up your awesome work brother!
lovin the vids kage, your first of the series got me hooked and i roped my friend in to it too. teching up into electricity as soon as you can helps with crafting as the higher level workbenches have reduced crafting times. make sure on your travels if you find inverters/crucibles/solar panels/industrial batteries that you grab them and bring them home. essential for making the later on stations

Just to say : the 5.56mm caliber is the military (NATO) designation for the .223 Remington, itself derivated from the .222 Remington, designed for small animals, such as rabbits, but suitable even for a fox or a beaver, or a human as history proved it, but a thin skull animal. Boars are not thin skull animals, in fact they have a very thick skull, better use a bigger caliber on these, 12.7mm (.5 inches) seems more appropriate ^^

.50 cal for a pig is a bit of overkill. 7.62 would be more appropriate but 5.56 would work just fine.
Couldn't tell what horde you were on maybe day 27 ? My day 35 had alot of jumpers. I was on top of my house, so they didn't reach me. But your current setup may get over run next horde. Get some height would be very beneficial.
You can use the jerky to make the meat broth. As far as ive seen anything you can make with raw meat you can make with jerky in the pot. It is just a way of extending the life of the meat.
You should be buying those delicate parts when she has them. Going to need alot of them.
For future reference. The town closest to where you start (follow the road north) has a huge liquor store. I got about 30 bottles of alcohol, 10-15 2 litre water bottles and a few 3 litre water bottles. Also ended up with an entire chest of canned food from that store
You can totally farm in this one but it is kind of a pain. You need to research the cultivation pot and find seeds and fertilizer (barns). It takes quite a while for a crop though. Not sure if it is worth it yet.
I had potato’s get to 100% pressed on the button to get it and didn’t get anything out of it
If you like Spears you can unlock and make a Iron Spear and it only takes 1 log and 1 iron bar and lasts a lot longer than wooden spear, only draw back is you can't make it on the go like the wooden one, unless you make a spare production bench where your looting.

It does tell you in the smoker how far along it is - there is a countdown of seconds till finished on the bottom of the window

Kage if you were on day 21 all of your loot locations should have respawned if you had the standard 20 day respawn timer set ....

I found out that if you open the menu (TAB) while at any water source, you can fill your empty bottles!
Did I see the rain catch clip to the side of the wall ??? Maybe you can place a foundation in the corner and attach it to the roof to collect more rain ???
The books you don’t need anymore are good for selling
The way the pickaxe swing has the same effect as a program not responding on windows 98 when you drag it around with your mouse.

You only need to use 1 x Mushroom and 2 x Water or 1 x Meat and 2 x Water to make stew and broth. You need three things in the pot but doesn't need to be two of the meat or vegetables. It is really a waste cooking it that way.
In Europe my grandfather hunted boar with a 12 guage. One shot would do it. 5.56mm, maybe 3 or 4 rounds should do it.

Smoking meat is a way of making like jerky meat (thin cut and dried/cooked over a long period on a low heat).
Perhaps the reason the devs don't allow the use of aluminum for the making of cookpots is because irl aluminum causes neurological diseases.
Real life aluminum cookware is ,if not cheap, anodized with another metal as a barrier to aluminum's toxicity.
FYI aluminum cans for food and drink have plastic liners.
Anyway, that's my $0.02.
Good chance that a 5.56 just glances off the boar skull IRL, dogs and knives are the way to go
Have you actually ever hunted boar? They are EXTREMELY tough. Wolves are FAR easier to kill than a grown boar.
KAGE I found a enormous CAVE that you can drive the truck into and a full set of Medieval Armor at the clothing dealer
Farming works, sort of. It's way more difficult to get good results than e.g. in "The Infected" though (also somehow not as rewarding). Needs balancing, otherwise looting becomes way more effective than farming.
Kage we need a sort button to be able to auto sort in the best way possible

It makes BBQ meat for 10 stamina and goes off very quickly so no point making more than you can eat now.
Boars are hard af to kill IRL. Boar spears are crazy because of that....
1 piece of charcoal is better than using a whole log for fuel. 1 charcoal i believe gives you 600 fuel for the fire. And it only takes 1 log to make it. 👍🏽
Even if the meat only sell for a small amount, sell it and use it to get some basic stuff or towards stuff

Build a maze of spikes and then have x4 to x8 they have to climb over to get to you
you need a ton of delicate parts at endgame, and they are insanely expensive to craft them.
What is endgame and what will you craft there? Do you really need it when it so expensive?
@@DieTabbi all the end game machinery, it takes one ingot each. Each one takes like 10-20 parts to make
Go to the city south of starting area. Those big buildings have all the components you could ever need in a single spawn.

Military shoes are worth a lot at traders and take up very little space/weight.

sitting in a crafting bench is not the best way you can trade anything and the used skill books are the best option. Crafting bench lvling takes literaly like a half hour or more to lvl plus the time required to gring the mats to craft

Don't shoot! Let your spikes take them out and shoot the ones that get on the platform.
I think it takes way to many bullets to kill animals. That they dont die from 1 spearpoke ok, but I feel you wouldnt have to empty a handgun into an animal to take it down.

@@Rico-m9s you need to wait for the crop to grow. Then harvest (do not shovel off unless you want to get rid of everything you already put in the plant slot (seed, fertilizer, water)

Why would you need iron ingots to make a drying rack. You only need sticks and rope/twine. The developers need to learn bushcrafting skills lol

ive been playing coop with my buddy across the country no problem, devs had expressed they do not want to make dedicated servers supported for this game (as of 2 days ago) so i just host and he joins when im online. everything seems to work normally
