Can Buddlea Davidii (Butterfly bush) and any of the cultivated milkweed (esp orange) or wild purple grow in Fla? I also sense an aviary and some birds coming soon. Is Jupiter Farms zoned for commercial use…? 🤔

I love the joy in Tom’s eyes when he talks about the plants he brought. One can only hope to have the passion and enthusiasm of these two men when being in their preferred environment !

During the time lapse, Slinky was very busy watching what was being unloaded in front of his enclosure. Great improvement for the enclosure and great collaboration with Tom!

The plants add so much! In the future you might keep in mind that you mentioned curving paths. You can also mound the soil here and there for more interest and maybe add a dry riverbed with all of those great rocks. Keep up the good work, I never miss an episode. Slinky is SO cool! I’m sure Tom could give his opinion regarding the method Blake uses to keep his turtles away from the waterlilies. It’d be great seeing both ponds meeting their full potential. Native plants like pickerel weed, bull rush, water hyacinth, cattails and native waterlilies can be collected and used to naturalize the big pond. A couple clear acrylic kayaks or rowboats people could rent would be an attraction and basking logs are a great idea to view the turtles. 🤯🧠
Adding the stone work looks good, but those timbers have got to go. It makes it look boxy again. I'm a Former landscape designer.... 40 yrs at it.
Meandering is key, lead your eye and other senses through the landscape, Let the landscape tell a story of time and place
Idk if it would cause issues with the structure but have you ever thought of some sort of creeping vines/plants to put on top? Like having them dangling down inside the enclosure and walking through that real jungle feeling would be sweet.
I was going to suggest a few tropical flowering vines like Bougainvillea, Passiflora species & Thunbergia (Blue Bengal Clock Vine) to conceal the edges. They can be grown on a trellis if weight on the structure is an issue. They’d definitely give it a tropical feeling, I’d defer to Tom for suggestions.

Another gardening saying about perennials, at least up here in the Great North, is …The first year they Sleep, the second year they Creep, the third year they Leap!! It’s absolutely true too! Watching your channel, I’ve learned that In Florida, it seems new plantings just Leap!

What you could do is to add old tree stumps or logs into your planted borders. This way you can mimic fallen trees in a forrrest and let them rot in your border. This way you create a more natural scenery to your garden. Also the old trees will make a perfect growing space for mosses and ferns to grow on. It will even make a nice home for some insects!

Looks awesome. You’re living the dream, I’m in Kentucky where my reptiles and jungle have to move in and out of the house as seasons change. It’s a huge job I do twice a year. I guess I’ll need to move to south Florida or build a massive greenhouse.

There is a large monitor species in the state of Jalisco in Mexico. When I was a kid i would see them all the time. they were awesome and would never attack.
The Godzilla Gardens look great!!
Tom is the man. I think instead of old railroad ties, framing the garden with natural wood with curves like large branches or long trunks horizontally would look better. Give it a more natural look and make the outline less harsh
My opinion also. He was going for smooth edges and he blocked it back up with those rail road ties.

Oh Kenan, that is MY kind of shopping ! The bananas will even give you food for the critters. And all this plant life will REALLY make your property into an amazing BOTANICAL & REPTILE GARDEN ! And I sympathize with your feelings about the canines ! In my neighborhood they are all "ankle-biter" size and have never been trained... they even bark at the owls at night !

Gamera is my favorite Kaiju! Been watching his movies for 40 years or so. My whole office is filled with Godzilla and Gamera figures. They all keep an eye on me while I work!

Longwood Gardens in south PA is an amazing place, especially this time of year. Naturalizing orchids and other epiphytes (bromeliads, tillandsea, etc) in So Fla is easy. My brother has a purple & red Vanda orchid I gave him 25+ years ago growing on a tree in an aviary. Now it’s 8’ long & almost always in bloom. Low growing, Mini-Cattleya is a terrestrial orchid very popular as a border/bedding plant in Fla, I’m sure Tom has experience with them & orchids in general.

As for myself i can only imagine how happy this makes you (i live in the arctic north so cant realy do stuff like this outdoors). And to me it is realy great to see people doing what i realy would want to do!

Hey, My Brother Kenan, I wish placing big areca plam plants one on each sides of the entrance, when it grows tall it give a look of welcome to the jungle,.
And you can place some kind of creepers on the side walls lik turtle wine, pothos, which really gives a look of vegitated compound walls.
And also iv seen so much of monster deliciossa just a cuttings wuld spread nicely.
I suggest move the banana further out. It will grow clusters.

Remember birds of paradise send a lot of runners. Beautiful. But a pain in the neck to control if it isn't in a pot. I'd use a huge pot for the to have space to grow and dig the pot in.

Great to see Jerry and Kagan there too. I got to meet them not long ago to deliver a couple of large Koi for their pond.
